Yes, this should probably have gone in music, so move it if you need to.

The MiniBosses, the OneUps, KFSS studios (??), these are some of the videogame tribute bands out there.

Well, what would you name yours?

Christine said she's be a Genesis tribute band called Blast Processing.

I'd call myself Press A for Speed Boost.

Well, seeing as though early game music was highly influenced by bands like early Genesis (Uematsu in perticular), a Genesis cover band is practically a videogame band already.

BTW: ususally cover bands tend to take their names from the bands they cover, "Blast Processing" isn't a name that makes me think of Genesis at all. Things like "Sky Watchers", "The Hogweeds" or "Rael's Severed Member" would be more appropriate.

Er, I'm talking about Genesis the console, not Genesis the band.

I think a metal band named "Dracula X" would kick ass.

EDIT: Actually, I think the best name ever would be "Phoenix Down".

I'm torn between "The Spoony Bards" or "The Psycho Crushers"

As a complete aside, I've always thought that it would be cool to name every pet I get in the theme of Metal Gear Solid bosses. Just a thought.

I'm tempted to say "The 108 Runes".

I haven't picked a band name yet, but we'd write a song about Aeris called "Materia Girl".

I don't have a video game influenced band name, but my band name in Guitar Hero is "The Rutherford B. Hayes Band", simply because that is the most bad ass name ever.

Mine would be something lame, like Stars of Destiny.

Er... just figured "Genesis Tribute Band" refered to, ya know, the big fuckin' progrock band called "Genesis," who Uematsu refers to all the time in his interviews. Sorry, big progrock nut here, guess I jumped to conclusions.

For any kind of band name, I wouldn't even try for something "good."  All the good band names are taken, so I would go for something totally stupid and nonsensical like

Fei Fong Wong and the Gears of War.

Although a power metal band dedicated to Phantasy Star named Skyhaven would be kinda cool.

And for what it's worth, the guys in the power metal band DragonForce are video game nuts (guitarist Herman Li likes to do weird picking techniques to make his guitar sound like video game bleeps and bloops) and there was a classic game on Saturn called Dragon Force.

A tribute to Ness's custom name psychic attack from Earthbound. It's so obvious, because my band would totally rock your mind OUT!
