I think Suikoden II's well worth the money if you're an avid collector of RPG's.  I personally own all 5 of the Suikodens and the spin-off of IV, Suikoden Tactics.  The series is all around great, but II is definitely something special.  Either way, the game itself is going to retain it's value, so if you don't like the game you can just resell it for what you bought it for.  Worst case, you lose 10-20$.  While I'm at it, I'll say that III had more of an impact on me having played I and II first, and I, II and III in respective order.  In my opinion, playing them in order does develop a better overall storyline, but that's mostly because I, II and III are all in chronological order.

Keeping your eyes open at pawn shops is a good idea in regards to these old games.  Sure, eBay has em up for hundreds, but it is possible to find people who DON'T know there worth and sell them for a lot less.  Just look around your city at generic pawn shops and you could net yourself some cheap games to cherish or sell on eBay to make back 200% mark up.  :P

Somehow I totally missed this topic.

Is it worth it? In my opinion, yes.

I got *very* lucky and found Suikoden 1 and 2 in a combined package for $100. I took and never regretted it.

You can probably find Suikoden 1 fairly cheap as well.

I say yes. Get it if you can find it for a semi reasonable price.

Like, under $100.
