How about that Canadian dollar, eh?

I figured we have a bunch of Canucks (as well as Leafs and Oilers and Senators and Flames and Canadiens), so I thought this would make an interesting topic.

Any of you Northern neighbors get paid in American? You may soon regret that. :P

Nope. No American dollars here sah. I'm kinda iffy on the benefits here. It's sorta... /not/ great for our economy based on you Yankees not coming up to buy shit cheaper anymore, but I dunno. Not being an economist, I'm not sure what the major benefits/drawbacks might be in the long run.

We have reached parity.

1 = 1

EDIT: nevermind this edit, OUR dollar is at 99 cents to yours. :P

In the last six months the value of Canadian currency to the US dollar has gone up over 14 cents.

I'll be impressed if it manages to hold.  It'll take a few months before companies fix prices, so that means Yankee items up here are gonna be listed as: USA: 14.99, Can: 19.99.  Or: America: 34.99, Canada: 49.99.  You know, the abstract raising of prices for goods.

I mean, it's one thing if the prices reflect the difference in economy...  But most of the time it's just a random price jack.  I mean, fuck, Xenosaga cost me fucking 79.99 when it came out.  How much was it in America, 49.99?

Anyway, Canada should stop pussyfooting around and actually fucking work on raising the dollar itself, instead on relying on the Yank dollar to fall.

*sigh* I wish I were in Canada. Unfortunately, my state was cursed with Canada's crappy climate, but Texas's "intelligence" and politics.

Fuck Alaska. If any of you Canadians come here... get the fuck out... it might be contagious.

You also have (or at least had) Mike Gravel, who is pretty much the only presidential candidate I can vote for without immediately running to the nearest toilet afterward.

Haha, I took $70 US to the bank the other day.

....and got $68.60 in return in Canadian.

It was weird.
