It's still unnecessary.

So are games in general. Quit whining.

Why is it you have to insult everybody who has a different opinion than you?

I'd really like to know who wakes up and pisses in your Corn Flakes every morning.

I think your avatar's a clue there actually.

I'd say more on this whole remake bullshit, but I'd just be repeating myself for the most part, and the one thing I can think of in defense, not doing it very often, kinda doesn't apply to Square here.

It's worth noting actually that it might just be that all the characters have their base, normal abilities that can't be removed, and you can equip extra ones, maybe just ones from lost teammates. That's not very serious customization then, it's not like making Cecil a summoner/dark knight then Kain a Ninja Bard or anything. Well, maybe a Dragoon Bard. Ofcourse I might have to look at that preview again.

That video made it sound like you could customize characters but in a limitted and rather permanent sense. Like, anyone can be anyone, but no-one can be everything.

Or some bullocks.

I didn't insult you. I told you to quit whining. At least the other people who don't like/want the game are stating their beef with it, you're just continuously going off on this whole 'remakes sucks' crap we all already know about.

Hey, so how about them games, yeah?

I think it looks great. Very nice visuals for a DS RPG.

Fingers crossed Zeromus can be killed this time around.

You see, you can call me lazy, but I like it when I don't have to customize. I say "have to" because it's such a chore for me. I just want to play the game and enjoy it without worrying about every single choice I make. FFVII is one of my favorite games, but in that case it's mostly in spite of all the times I gave myself a headache allocating materia to the right people.

This is just me, though. I don't mind if there is customization as long as the characters keep their individuality. Of course, one of the things I love about FFIV is that you, as a player, are forced to work with restraints. You didn't have as active a role, but you didn't have to worry about customizing yourself into a hole, and it took some of the blame off when you lost. It's a lot less frustrating to know that you just had to level up or learn how to use a character than if you find out you should have made a choice earlier on.

Dude, I don't care about customization. I just hope this new FFIV isn't as retardedly unbalanced as hardtype. That was so damn uplayable after a point.

By unplayable, you mean when you fought Zeromus. That's the only time I really had trouble except maybe for fighting some of the ultimate equipment bonus bosses.

the probem with excessive customization in rpg's is that if you dont make your characters be all you are gimping yourself. wich was definately the case with ffxii. in ffxii one character alone can not keep your party healed in boss fights. meanwhile in ffx either yuna or rikku can keep the party healed alone.

Isn't that only because one is active time battles and the other is turn based though?  I mean really, it's pretty easy to have only one healer if it's turn based because you know exactly when damage is going to be dealt.
