After seeing Casino Royale last night I'm really in the mood for a 007-esque action game. Unfortunately, I have no such game, which sucks balls. It sucks so much balls, in fact, that it has made me generally grumpy. I'm stuck on the moon mission in Mass Effect (I know I can skip it, but I only have one more base and I don't want to leave it), I haven't felt any particular yearning to play FFXI for the past week, and my computer is going to shit. Rock Band spoiled me when I was playing with my friends, and thus is a wee bit boring on it's own. I tried picking up Resistance again, only to fail miserably in the same exact place.
Basically I'm having massive game ADD/burnout, and it's not fun.

Gitaroo Man PSP- still getting beat by the Sanbone trio. I'm playing in easy mode and it's tough for me. I got to the Final portion of the stage but completely lost it.
Ontamarama- I'm playing in normal mode and EDIT: I'm getting my tail smacked during the Trance Macabre stage against Rubato.
And why is it that love songs are always difficult in rhythm/beat games? The love song was tough in Gitaroo Man and the Sweet Suite love song played in Ontamarama is tough too.

FFFUUUCCCKKK.
I beat Twilight Princess yesterday!
Fighting
Code:
Zelda
was awesome! And fighting
Code:
Ganon
, like,
Code:
four times in a row
was also awesome.
Code:
Midna
being a
Code:
gothic princess
was totally awesome, I wrote an
Code:
industrial techno traxx
about it.
In all seriousness, I really fucking enjoyed the game. I'll say that LttP, OoT, and Zelda II (shh) are still my favorites though. But man... What a damn satisfying game. The air fortress or whatever the Hell it was called was the longest dungeon ever.
I started Final Fantasy XII today.
Final Fantasy XII is much much better than I was thinking it would be. Interesting characters? A villain who has charisma? A short pink mini skirt?! Let's hope the game continues being awesome. I've played, like, eight hours today and after I'm done
Code:
having this shit (go go laptops)
, I'm going back for more.
Save for some really damned retarded graphical glitches, things are going well.

Interesting characters?
Who are you referring to? I found most of Final Fantasy XII's cast to be extremely... meh. Balthier and Fran were cool, but I still wonder to this day what the hell Vaan and Panelo's role in the journey was.

SE filling some arbitrary hole in having teenage characters apparently since it sounds like Basch was meant to be the main character and focus of the story initially.
Oh hey I beat Mass Effect! Definitely one of the best RPGs of 2007.

And I know FF12 Revenant Wings brings the focus back to Vaan and Penelo who were quite peripheral to the general storyline in FF12. I wasn't really into FF12's combat and there were too many draggy lulls between the good stuff, but Rabanastre's an amazing RPG town and for the time I played it, Basch was my favorite character. I, of course, liked Balthier and Fran too.
My gaming? Still rocking some Ontamarama and Gitaroo Man Lives!

Wow, these journals don't normally go this long. I was hesitating to post in it figuring it was about to get reset.
I've been playing Phantom Hourglass. I'm generally impressed with the game, and am having some good fun, but I do have some (not so minor) complaints.
As seems to be the case with every game I play I am bothered by the music (or lack thereof) in this. Almost every dungeon has the same frickin theme! WHY do they do this? Memory constraints? If it must be done this way, at least make it damn good. ugh.
While I like the stylus play, I would still prefer the "normal" control scheme. Plus, my hand gets in the way all the time.
The graphics are well done, but every place looks the same. Some more variety would be nice.
As for my progress, I am now on the Ghost ship, which I though would offer something different musically and graphically, but I guess it's not to be.
Started up a game of Chrono Trigger. I've only played through it once, and that was a long time ago. I may or may not continue. At least with this I know I'm getting great graphics and music.

Yeah, Basch is totally awesome. Kinda reminds me of Cyan in a way. Balthier is also damned cool. I like how neither of them are generic animu twats. I mean, yeah, Vaan and Penelo are kinda there, but Vaan isn't a /whiny/ animu twat.
Ashe also reminds me of a playable Beatrix or maybe Meliadoul. Kick ass sword fighter. Usually we have to pretend that's the lead character. And that can get annoying when some of your characters have swords larger than they are, I'm looking at you Cloud.
Anyway, the PS2 is so fucked, all I see on the screen now for NTSC games is just a mass of... Twitching blue and white. Hoping to grab an NTSC PS2 by the end of the week as I have had some fucking dire troubles trying to play the NTSC collection on a damned PAL PS2.
Played more Riviera instead! Too cute RPGs are fun every now and then.

Minor complaint about P3.
Wish I could control all of my partyinstead of just the main character.
Other than that it's grand. Second full moon is almost here.

Later in the game it won't matter much, as you'll have enough skills from your persona to take down all the enemies and destroy them on the first round of combat.

Devoted gaming time this last weekend to Super Mario Galaxy and got the ending at around 75 stars. I'm not sure if I want to pursue all 120... it just comes off really tedious. We'll see.
