Man, I am this close to finishing off Persona 3. After 82 hours of play time (so far), it's finally about to come to an end.
Code:
I played, like, ten hours today, so I'd like to think that I got a lot done. I've experienced the bad ending (Kill Ryoji) to the game, but I went back, and I am currently training my team during January for the final confrontation against Nyx. I'm wicked excited to see how everything wraps up, and am thankful that I have another month to max out a few more Social Links.
But man, that alternate ending was depressing. Nothing dramatic happened, but the fact that the party became ignorant to the entire situaiton (save for Aigis, apparently) was a bit heart wrenching considering how much they struggled to get to where they were.
Also, Monad is freaking insane. How exactly does Atlus expect people to navigate that thing? :P

What I did in Monad was to win one battle, exit, and save. I gained mondo EXP that way. I never even bothered to complete it. I just used it to build levels.
One cheap way to get through Monad is with
Code:
a maxxed out Lucifer and Satan. That way, Armageddon kills everything and one of Lucifer's special skills restores all your SP after a battle

Okay, so fuck anything and everything involving Neverwinter Nights 2. The original
and
the expansion are both boring as shit. They did instill the need in me to play some D&D related shit though, so I dusted off Baldur's Gate 2 for the first time in quite a while. I'm playing as the two-trick pony called Inquisitor, and it's going well. Even the dull as fuck opening dungeon beats the hell out of the entirety of NWN2.
As for P3 and the Monad section, you don't even need anything all that fancy. There are like two or three different combinations of enemies that are weak against instant death spells. If you're lucky enough to have Die For Me on a persona, it's like free experience. Just stick around the first floor, kill one of these groups, gain a fuckton of levels off one fight, flee back to the save point, repeat till you get godly.

Beat Phantom Hourglass last night. The game felt somewhat short, although I've been playing it for maybe more than a couple months in small and quick gaming spurts. Definitely the easiest Zelda I've played. I think I'll make more of a concerted effort to play Twilight Princess now that I'm in a Zelda mood.

@Dincrest/D-Rider - Yeah, that's exactly what I did (minus the part about Lucifer). I think I overreacted a bit, because once I got the hang of the enemies, and scored a few levels, the dungeon itself was cake. And if you're curious, Dincrest, the prize for reaching the top is 1 million bucks. :P
Anyway, I finally beat it! After 89 grueling hours of gameplay, I'm finally rewarded with the ending! I was a little disappointed at how easy the final boss was, but I guess that's my fault, since I spent way too much time in the secret dungeon...
Code:
I personally thought they the ending was phenomenal. The final, final boss was really well done, and I liked how they brought in the Social Links that you maxed out to give you a helping hand. It was also great to see that the main characters' memories of the past year didn't get erased. I really would have been bummed if everyone forgot the promise they made to eachother before the Dark Hour disappeared.
I also liked how Aigis was handled. When she first joined the squad, I didn't expect her to become, arguably, the most important character of the story. The scene where she finally discovered her meaning of life was very powerful, and felt believable, even if she is a robot. Now I REALLY want to play P3: Fes in order to shed more light on her character.
Just a side-note, but I also beat The Reaper in one shot. It was pretty tough once he started spamming Megidolaon turn after turn, but it felt good to get that 5 million yen bounty once I killed him.
This was definately one of my favorite games of 2007, if not ever. I think that's thanks to the amazing cast of characters. Every one of them brought something different to the table (even Koromaru :P), and I think that part of the game's brilliance is thanks each one of them.
Definitely a beautifully crafted experience. I couldn't recommend a title more than this one!

I am continuing my file of KOTOR, 20 hours in now and this game is really fucking sweet. Also I started playing Fable Lost Chapters again on Xbox, but I probably wont continue that for while, seeing that my friend is borrowing my Xbox right now.

Played a bit more Tales of Legendia, getting out of the Great Hollows in Will's character quest. Woulda played more if I didn't have a lot of reading and studying to do...

I'm going to be gaming over christmas. I constructed a list but I've decided to narrow it down. I'll be posting updates here.
(Games I'm planning on playing but pry won't are the gamecube games i was thinking about since I can't find my RF adaptor, and shadow hearts covenant because the text is bloody small, flickery and unreadable on my TV).
Today I played FFIX and (pending).
I did Gizamaluke's Grotto and realized I missed some stuff. Hopefully I can get back. I loved the music in that bit. I also loved the moment when I realized I could actually cast slow on Gizamaluke. Quina's blue magic seems fairly useful, actually, although I bollocksed up my save states and lost getting the water attack from that horseshoe crab. I like how the game is somewhat difficult, character's are customizable but not identical, and the minstrel song meets seiken visual style.

Since I have time off from school, I've been gaming as much as possible. My genre of choice lately happens to be adventure games. I've been playing a lot of freeware games, some of which are pretty darn good.
I also play Picross everyday. It's very relaxing. I'll cry when I finish all the puzzles.

I 100%'ed Picross recently. There's no timer that I know of, but I'm pretty sure I spent over 30 or 40 hours on that game. Free Mode can be incredibly frustrating at times. That was a well-spent $20. =)

I'm to the final chapter of part four in Radiant Dawn easy mode. I made it in 36 hours this time around, and I have tons of promoted units. It is going to be tough to choose who I'll take along because so many of them are so good. I'll finish this up and probably take a break until Christmas (where I might get new games!) and after that I'll tear into Metroid Prime 3 since I've had to neglect because of school.

Played through most of december in PS3 last night.
WOW.
Code:
I was glad to see that PS3 sidesteps the typical end of the world theme by presenting a very mortal reality to the main characters. I don't think in any game I've ever played where the world is going to end, that the main characters get depressed and take a time out to reflect on their own lives and their impending doom.

I'm 25% through FF12 Revenant Wings. I love this game, it's so easy to just pick up and play. I'm glad they could take FF to the RTS genre without making it overly complex. I like how Balthier is a total badass still and even though the game was made for a younger crowd, the dialogue still seems to have some stuff for the older folks.
"You tire of the foreplay already?" Good stuff.

I agree, just finished the game and enjoyed every bit of it.
