I guess they could deserve...so long as the script is good.  Lord knows a good line or two have come out of games...but usually nothing to write home about.

I'd give an award to the Star Ocean 2 script.  It marks the first time I have ever head a male, let alone male-lead role, say the word "exasperating". Way to go Claude.

I'd like to see the guild's choice..then I'll make a better comment.

December 06-November 07 is the range in which the release date must fall/have fallen on in order to be eligible for the award.

I'm guessing BioShock will be a candidate.

If they can't recognize either the original Japanese or "naturalized" (as they called it ... I call it "localized") US translations in this running, I am very much uninterested.

Of course BioShock is a good candidate, as the article mentions. I'm guessing it will win for this year.

I have always, *always* been in favor of seeing this facet of gaming get more attention. I hope they focus on scenario and not just dialogue. (I'd give a scenario award to Xenosaga...)

Heh, before I clicked the link I read all the posts and the first thing I thought of was "Planescape: Torment" then the end of the article echoes my thoughts.

It will be interesting to see what kinds of criteria will be used by the guild to evaluate video game writing.

Bioshock is probably the only game I've played this year deserving of a mention.
