You're just being cryptic again. It's like soap opera sex. Lots of boring dialogue and when they finally do go to bed, everything's dark and covered by blankets.

A whole decade!! More than that now I think, 'cause this was an '07 topic.

Happy Belated birthday RPGFan, regardless. I can't recall how long I've been visiting this board but I used to be really active at one point. I feel like such an irregular poster now. :P

Love y'all loads, had some of my most interesting conversations during my adolescence over here. I remember when the Chronologist was active and how I used to avoid the board drama out of pure fear of being flamed.  Oh, and Neal-- I'll always remember you as Blademaster Dezo!

Everyone remembers me as Blademaster Dezo.  And why not?

October 2009... man, this month is my personal 10 year anniversary with RPGFan.  October 1999 is when I first joined up and my first topic was asking about the Japanese/English names in FF6.  Somehow I stuck around through the drama, the board wipes, the server changes...

I don't remember what month I joined but the year was 1999. It was a simpler time.

All right, we are going to use a fan brush here and uh why don't you take some hunter green and we are going to put a happy little bush right down over here in the corner there and that'll just be our little secret and if you tell anyone that that bush is there I will come to your house and I will cut you.

I think I actively posted in 1998, at least I recall being convinced to get Xenogears by reviews here at that time despite being grotesquely underwhelmed by the demo. I recall seeing the site around when it started too, but I didn't pay too much attention at first.

TOPIC BUMP!

The site isnt at a milestone birthday or anything, but I'm being nostalgic and realized I've been coming to RPGFan/OriginalLunarNet for the better part of 14 years.

What the shit.

I've known some of you douchebags longer than some of my best friends....God I was a prick back in the early days. DR...what happened to me? I got soft....

Dunno how anyone could go soft around here, I'm as turgid as bratwurst injected with methamphetamines.

I've been here since 1999 and I know I've changed a lot.  In my 20s, I tried to be all mature and a paragon of proper decorum.  Now in my 30s, I'm like "eff that" and I gladly point and laugh along with the peanut gallery and embrace my inner 8 year-old.

Yeah, I have to say that Todd has changed quite a bit from way back then. I remember you being pretty much nothing more than a troll. Or at least not very prone to mature conversation and discussion.
My only real change is that I hardly ever get to play all the games being discussed. And most certainly not any classic-type rpgs. That whole responsibility thing. Or different priorities, anyway.
Nowadays, unless a review extolls the virtues of a games brevity I chalk it up as yet another game I'll never play.

When I used to frequent a bass players' forum, I used to get GAS like crazy.  GAS= Gear Acquisition Syndrome.  When I stopped posting there and started playing more, the GAS subsided.  I still like gear, but I don't always have to covet it and get it.

I wonder if RPGFan has that same effect on people.  GAS= Game Acquisition Syndrome.  Would our gaming lives be happier without RPGFan?  Ignorance is bliss and all that?

I don't think so.  I like my quirky underground stuff too much.

I have played a few stinkers writing for the site, but I must say that I've learned about a ton of really great games and soundtracks that I would have missed if I did not come here too.  More positives than negatives by a mile.

Cleanup crew's had its share of dumpster diving treasures.  If it weren't for "taking one for the team," I wouldn't have played the Naruto: Path of the Ninja games, which were actually good!

Thank you for playing the stinkers so the rest of us can avoid them.
