I just got Square-Enix's reprint of the Front Mission Alternative soundtrack...effing awesome, yo, if you like mainstream-style chill/techno. Very repetitive, maybe, but they're also some pretty chill lounge grooves beside the high bpm battle themes.

I´ve got the game for SNES.
Does the DS version differ ? Are there any extras or improvements ?

You can play the USN/UCS side of the story, that's the big change.  It's even more expanded from Front Mission Alternative for the PSOne.
Wait, wasn't Front Mission Alternative just a spinoff of the series? I thought it was Front Mission 1st that was the port... might be wrong, I don't know.

Anyways, I'll be picking up the DS one fairly soon. The latest batch of reviews are starting to turn me off a little, though.

Yeah the packaging is awful, wish they use Amano art like the JP packaging. At least it doesn't effect the quality of the game!

Good news! It's now $20! Bad news! It must've tanked to get a price drop that quick. Guess we can say goodbye to other Front Mission games.

... Should've probably got this ASAP. I can only hope this encourages SE to A. drop prices, and/or B. release at better times. Then again the whole industry's kinda thick headed there.

It's E10+. And if something like FFVI can get away with a lot of the crap it has yet also attain that rating, I can see how it'd happen for FM.

When I was down to my last dollar (for videogames, at least), I chose DQM over FM. Now I'm kinda starting to regret that decision, not because DQM isn't an excellent game, but because I may, in my own small way, have helped reinforce S-E's milking of their major IPs and their neglect of their smaller ones.
