Vagrant Story

+ Wonderful story with superb writing and presentation
+ Rewarding world to explore
+ Complex system that rewards playing well

- Not easily accessible due to aforementioned combat system
- Bosses can get a bit repetitive
- Not much color variation (though the world is well designed)

Alright then, how about... Earthbound?

Edit: Meant to say presentation, not localization. Not that it's inaccurate, but writing covered that already. :P

Earthbound!

+ Endearing setting.  It was very...  Childish, but didn't really seem like it was something Disney would have vomitted out.  To put it another way, it focused on kids, but had some adult themes that were treated fun.
+ Colorful world full of lots of fun things to do.
+ Hippie with a ruler.

- Battle system was a generic DQ clone.
- The game seemed to drag a bit.
- I still have the smell from those fuckiing scratch and sniff monsters in my nostrils.

If you wish to go the brave path, Traysia.

If you wish to go the easy path, Chrono Trigger.

I'll take the less perilous road: Chrono Trigger.

+Best soundtrack ever
+Excellent story with multiple endings
+Fantastic battle system
-Pretty easy
-Not enough character customization for my tastes
-The fact that I seriously can't think of a third flaw. This game is nearly perfect.

How 'bout some Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation?

As requested, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance instead:

-Laws are too limiting; battles are sluggish

This is one of the only games that have come up that I could have commented about... so I just wanted to say quickly that I disagree just a bit with this point.  I didn't feel like the laws were too limiting, but I DID feel like they weren't explained well enough.  Some of them left you in situations where you'd have to either test things out and get yellow/red carded or just not care if people got sent to jail.

Don't know if this post is really in line with the rules... but oh well.

Super Robot Taisen: Origianl Generation (assuming the first)

+Lots and lots of mechs you can tweak
+Likeable characters, though they can be quite chatty
+Nice music with majority of characters having their own theme songs

-Weak visuals (the sequel is excellent in that department)
-Gameplay can be heavily repetitive
-Uneven difficulty

Heres something recent: Eternal Sonata

Eternal Sonata? COVERED:

+Very pretty music, both Chopin's & Sakuraba's
+The visuals were nice, as were the colors
+I liked the multiplayer aspect

-The godawful story post-halfway point
-There wasn't enough done with the picture taking, aside from breaking the shop system
-Panic Shimmy

Secret of Mana

+Lovely visuals & sound
+Nice challenge/learning curve
+Good character/weapon/magic growth system

-Story is fragmented, often going for several sessions of just killing enemies before reaching the next story point
-Lots of repetition of enemy sprites, including bosses
-Sometimes it's not exactly clear where you have to go next

Front Mission 3

+Almost endless customisation of wanzers
+The more realistic story is a nice change of pace
+Internet simulation was a good addition to gameplay and story

-At times, luck is more valuable than strategy (activation of skills, you can't always choose which part of the enemy wanzer you want to hit etc)
-The main character whines a lot and will likely annoy the hell out of you (in one Playthrough I named him Shinji and give him a purple wanzer, hah.)
-The story is not something for everyone, some may even call it a political borefest

Terranigma
+fun, wicked gameplay gameplay
+interesting and original in many aspects (an RPG on earth is rare for one...an RPG taking place before earth's resurrecting(?) phase is another)
+deep, dark story, leaving your jaw dropping from beginning to end

-hard fucken dungeons
-the neo-tokyo sewer can suck it
-somewhat confusing plot, and unfinished ends (a magirock you can't get, and capetown)

Tales of Phantasia a go-go.

Tales of Phantasia

+That opening vocal number by Yukari Yoshida was quite a feat on a SNES cartridge, and it was a great song.

+The PSOne remake showed how a remake should be done.

+The story is one of the better ones in the Tales Universe

-The GBA port US gamers got was awful: bad English dub, dry English translation, no Yukari Yoshida opening song, shoddy porting (read my review.)

-The music could have been better

-Some battles could be cheap.

I suggest Okage: Shadow King is next in this little game.

Okage: Shadow King

+Story has some good plottwists
+Interesting character and location designs
+Funny dialogues

-Mediocre soundtrack
-Plays like a bad NES RPG
-Crappy camera angles

Next: ... Drakengard? Nobody has mentioned that one yet, right?

Drakengard Not sure if this should even be here, but meh, why not:

+Flying was fun
+Great Cutscenes
+Good length

-Boring environments
-Repetitive combat
-Bad camera

As for my choice, I'll go for: Parasite Eve

Parasite Eve...

+ Unique cross between an RPG and Resident Evil.
+ Guns are a nice deviation from swords.
+ Fun combat.  I think.  It's been ages.  :P

- Some bosses were cheap.  That I remember.
- I don't remember the music being too good.
- The lead character looks like Jennifer Aniston.

Next, Crusader of Centy.  Never heard of it?  Do Suikoden Tactics.

Crusader of Centy
Positive:
-it's just plain fun
-the adventure is surprisingly more involving than you'd think if you based yourself on the cute visuals and fluffy animals
-the Sonic cameo

Negative:
-It's far too short. We're talking 10-12 hours.
-some of the more interesting story points aren't developped enough (mostly cause it's too short)
-It's a bit too easy.

Next up, er, let's see... SaGa Frontier?

+ Good soundtrack
+ Great graphics
+ Interesting battle system

- Not all the stories are interesting
- Sometimes difficult to figure out what to do
- Gets repetitive at times.

Hmmm. My next choice is......
