Pan's Labyrinth-
Holy shit; I have not seen a more visually-stunning movie in my life.
The flick was surprisingly dark too, I had to turn away from the screen a couple times. For a movie about a magnificant land with beautiful magical creatures, it was surprisingly gory.
I loved it.

United 93 - Holy shit. There aren't many films with that powerful an ending.

Last night, we rented “Babel” and “For Your Consideration.” I had very high expectations for both films and neither delivered for me… the former’s storytelling seemed a bit choppy and unrealistic, while the latter is the worst collaboration from Christopher Guest & Co. in my opinion.

I watched The Departed again, and as expected, I liked it even more this time around.

I watched
Ghost Rider
last night with a couple of friends. It was actually a fun watch. Horrible (read: cheesy), I'll admit, but that's what made it fun. :P
Blackheart and his goons looked like some emo boy band. I was just waiting for them break out into a Backstreet Boys' song!

Watched An Inconvenient Truth. Pretty informative documentary, shined some light on many new things for me. Definitely an interesting watch.

Edward Scissorhands:D I got home last night and it was on YTV so I caught most of it. A classic in my book.

Nan and I were off on Friday so we found the last theatre still playing Pans Labyrinth and went.
I enjoyed the movie, but it was not as good as the hype made it out to be.
Code:
I know they had to make her do it to enhance the movie, but the girl WOULD NOT have eaten the grapes! This continues to bother me.
I found it interesting how the Captain somehow became a supervillain, capable of withstanding numerous knife wounds and a large dose of sedatives. I pretty much knew the girl was going to die, but how sad was that ending? Even to the end, she was embroiled in her fantasy world.
This is a movie I look forward to seeing again at home. It was certainly well made and entertaining.
Also, I forgot to post that I saw Heavenly Creatures a few weeks ago. I really liked this movie. Kind of Similar to Pans in a way. Growing up and innocence lost. Well made movie.

I watched Borat with my family earlier. It was a hilarious comedy, and it felt refreshing. The last few comidies I've been dragged to see are these romantic comedies or these family films that I find a lot of the humor to be pretty forced.
Real good stuff.

I saw 300 earlier today with a giant group of friends. Of course, it was sold out, so a handful of us had to hatch a master plan in order to get in.
Pretty bloody awesome (no pun intended).
The visuals were fantastic, and the action was pretty varied. It wasn't just hack'n'slash entertainment, that's for sure.
The movie itself was probably only a half hour, but it managed to stretch into two hours due to the creators' infatuation with slow motion effects. :P
Still, very entertaining.

Watched the first Back to the Future on Thursday. First time I've watched it beginning to end and remember it (I dunno if I did as a toddler or not). Will watch Reservoir Dogs later.

Watched Zodiac a couple of days ago. Really great movie. I had really no interest in going to see it initially, but it turned out to be one of the best films in recent memory.
Just came back from 300. Epic stylized violence at its finest. This movie pretty much defines what a "guy flick" should be. Awesome.

Smokin Aces - Pretty damn good. Some stuff was predictable...in the end though, I never saw alot of what went down coming.
Confession of Pain - From same guy who made Infernal Affairs. It was definitely entertaining, but it dragged on for a while. And they pretty much tell you exactly what happened really early on.
