Hot Fuzz - The follow up to Shaun of the Dead, don't know if it's been released in the states yet. Certainly not as good as its predecessor. It didn't have the same charm at all, and watching Simon Pegg play it straight is just a bit weird. It just felt like the serious aspects of the film, which are quite a big part of the film, didn't sit well with the more ridiculous aspects; these aspects needed more room to breathe, I thought.
All of that said, the last half hour is fucking spectacular. I mean, the whole thing was good and enjoyable, but the climax is godly. And Timothy Dalton kicked arse, as usual.

My brothers sat me down to watch
Dances With the Wolves
, which they claimed to be one of the best Kevin Costner films ever. I liked the movie a lot though it was a bit too slow moving at times.
Also saw
Rebel Without a Cause
. It was weird (in a good way), prolly because of the generation gap between what I'm used to and...well, James Dean movies. <3

Shooter - Not bad, definitely one of those guys films, tons of explosions and killing and sniping. But every movie iv'e seen just isn't as enjoyable after watching 300, I saw it again today, because iv'e got such a hard-on for it.
Hopefully Grindhouse will help. I'm psyched for that.

This past weekend I saw "Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure" a couple of times. The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy is one of my favorite cartoons these days (one of the absolute best on Cartoon Network) and Big Boogey Adventure was f'n terrific.
Some of the dialogue is hysterical.

2046 - It was on the E-Love channel and I decided to give it a go after seeing the movie mentioned on a thread about depressing movies on neo-gaf. Anyways, the movie wasn't depressing at all. Sure it didn't have a happy ending, but it isn't going to make you cry or anything. Most of us have fallen for someone who doesn't feel the same way. Sure it sucks, but you pick yourself up and move on. I'm sure the girl in the movie will do the same.

I watched
Eragon
yesterday, against my own will. :P
It wasn't as awful as I read, though by the end of the film I really wanted to hurt the scriptwriters and director.

Glory Road. I liked it, and I don't even like basketball that much.

Just got back from Grindhouse.
Ehhh... I liked it. A lot better than 300 in my opinion in terms of pure action. Tarantino let me down, though. Planet Terror was by far the better film, despite the brilliance of Death Proof's ending.
Might've been the length (doubt it), but the second half just seemed to drag. Especially the first half of the second half (if you've seen it you'll know what I mean).

Grindhouse- what a wicked fucken movie. HOWEVER, I hoenstly do think that the movies should have been switched in the order they play, since the first one has a more epic feel to it (despite the 2nd movie having a perfect ending).
One thing I like about this movie, is the perfect aesthetics. Everything is the way it should be.

Stranger Than Fiction
. I'm not used to seeing Ferrel play such a toned down character, compared to his other movies and roles.
It wasn't a bad film...there were chuckles here and there but nothing to laugh out loud at or think deeply about.

Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny - Was good fun. Not that many laughs, but suitably random and enjoyable throughout.

Happy Feet - So cute.
Grindhouse - I agree that the order should have been switched. Death Proof had a lot of draggy parts (convos). Planet Terror was basically bam bam bam so it really emphasized how slow the second movie was. With a heavy use of the edit button, I would have enjoyed it a lot better. Kurt Russel was great in it and the ending made me laugh. So yeah, I enjoyed Planet Terror a lot more. The one liners were pretty funny.

Shrek 2 -- Fun and funny. Better than I expected.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy -- Quirky and funner now that I know the lead guy is Tim from The Office. :P
The 13th Warrior -- Killtastic.
