The New World -  It was different.  I was actually looking forward to it, I came away from it disappointed.  It is a beautiful film and I can see why it was nominated for an oscar for best cinematography.  But the way the movie was shot was like the old Calvin Klein Obsession commercials.  The movie featured mostly clips of scenes and scenery with a lot of voice overs.  The music was beautiful but it overpowered the voice overs and I couldn't hear what the heck they were saying.  I had to turn on the subtitles.  Anyways, I didn't hate it but I don't think I'd watch it again.

When a Stanger Calls -  I thought this movie would suck but it surprised me by maintaining the suspense.  Heck I knew nothing bad would happen to her until she gets the phone call from the police, but I still was on the edge of my seat.

Ya know what I never do? Watch things more than once. With 10 millionbajillion movies, books, games, etc. to watch, read, and play out there, I would rather try something new than revisit the past. This is why I rarely buy dvds. I hardly have time for one viewing, let alone multiple.
Add in the fact that I spend more time outdoors than in this time year, and....
well, you get the picture.

Watched The Da Vinci Code over the weekend. I thought it was pretty good. Never finished the book (thought the writing was too bland), but the movie was pretty entertaining. It probably would have been a lot more enjoyable if the guy next to me wasn't fucking breathing so goddamn loudly for the whole 2.5 hours, though.

Something New -  I really liked this film.  It was all about dating outside one's race, something I always do.  I can't say I have experienced such negativity from family about it like the girl does in the film.  Plus it doesn't bother me one bit so I've never angsted over it.   Anyways, I never thought Simon Baker was hot until this film.

I watched the BBC version of Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and was very pleasantly surprised. Once I got over the hilarious cheapness of it all, it was really good. Despite the limitations of the age, they really capture the right atmosphere of the story and characters. It actually had heart unlike the big-budget Lion With and Wardrobe, which I thought was a bit shit. If they bugger up Voyage of the Dawn Treader I'm going to be a bit annoyed.

I just got back from Mission Impossible III. It was a lot of fun, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it is the bes t MI movie. I still enjoy the first one much more. MI-III also had some interesting social commentary in it as well. Not enough to hurt the film at all, but enough to people think...at least it made me think.

X-Men III on Friday, ZOMG!

After watching this film, you've got to ask yourself...

"Did I watch the movie? Or did the movie make me watch it?"

I ended up watching America's Sweethearts last night, because I was bored and eating crackers. It wasn't actually that bad, John Cusack was good as always.

Target - Some bad 80's movie with Gene Hackman and a young Matt Dillon. Pretty bad, but also quite enjoyable.

Constantine - Liked this more than I thought I would. Keanu Reeves was pretty bad, but he didn't bring it down. It won most on a visual level; it looked absolutely gorgeous IMO.

Waking Life - bizarre movie, if you want to call it that. At first I was turned off by the funky animation and obvious lack of a story, but by the end I was liking it a bit. Kinda pretentious and preachy, but interesting none the less.

Beyond the Poseidon Adventure - This was my late-night-after-jog movie. It was pretty awful!
