I have the four disc set that comprises DDS 1 & 2.

I noticed the single disc OST for DDS 1 and wondered about it.

Is it a kind of "best of" or is it more of a SMT Maniacs or Persona FES type of disc? Is it worth getting if you have the four disc package?

Close enough to a best of. It's more like a gameplay music CD, while the OST covers both gameplay and cinematic stuff. There's some cinematic stuff for DDS1's though I believe, one or two tracks, while DDS2's really is more of a best of deal since it has a good mix of the two.
