New FFXIII & Versus Scans

Final Fantasy XIII looks alright I guess... still want to see gameplay.  Final Fantasy XIII: Boyband Edition on the other hand, looks as dumb as ever.  Seriously, what the hell is that crap supposed to be.

I don't even care at this point.  Considering how long we've been hearing about the game, it still feels like every other game we're waiting for will be released before FFXIII.

If SE threw us a ballpark release date, I would then begin to care.  Maybe.

And I agree.  Let's see some gameplay.  Hopefully the playable demo released at some point in Japan will clear things up a bit.

I'm interested in knowing more about versus' story. FFXIII's protagonist is female but versus' cast seems to be mostly male though. I wish there was some versus in-game footage.

Personally, I find myself more drawn to the FFv13 style, but more drawn to the FF13 music and characters. What's a guy to do?

Sometimes I wish that Square-Enix would make a main Final Fantasy game that doesn't focus around extremely feminine characters, gackt-clones, or excessive straps and buckles. I know Yoshida did character design in FF12, but they had to fuck that one up too with Vaan and Penelo. I can imagine it went something like this during development.

"Basch and Balthier are too manly! Fran and Ashe aren't giggly and naive enough! I have an idea, lets make a dumb kid who has nothing to do with anything, tie him in vaguely to the story and throw in his childhood friend!"

It often feels like Final Fantasy Main series games peaked with the character designs and character development in FF6.

Now they choose to go with whatever fuels the yaoi fangirl obsessions. Finding out about the characters of FFXIII Versus is worst than the time I found out my cousin writes Auron/Tidus slash fiction.
