Prepare for more occult goodness as Atlus brings another in the SMT line to America.  It's like every day some Atlus exec wakes up and thinks "How can I possibly make my company more awesome?", and he always comes up with the right answer.

Fabutastic news.

Now all I need is an announcement that they're releasing Persona 3 unaltered in the US, and then Atlus USA will be the awesomenessest company ever.

Not surprising, but awesome news nevertheless. But if he were waking up and wondering 'how can I make this company more awesome?', he'd also be getting the PSP title localized. :P

Ironically, I was listening to the game's battle theme when I saw that report. This is awesome news that we'll be getting it, especially after we missed out on the previous games.

I didn't look at the 'sometimes controversial' link before, figuring it'd just be a link to the religion in video games bit Jeremy Parish did prior, but it actually links to a feature on the controversial elements in Shin Megami Tensei. You can read it here, but be warned: It has penis.

Oh, God, it's a picture of Mara. I swear, I was about to run out of the room screaming in horror when I first saw him in SMT2.

Excellent news. I remember watching the Japanese trailer and being awe-struck by the bizarre-looking creatures that fight alongside you.

and this guy too.

Eusis showed me the trailer a while ago and it really was awesome. Watched it numberous times too and was very to import it, but since it confirmed to come to the US, I will be patient and wait for it despite me feeling tempted to already play it.

Even though I expected it'd get licensed in the US quickly, I was still very tempted to buy the import.  Now, that temptation has been happily removed...mostly. :)

Oh and that 1up article said that the novel that Megami Tensei was originally based on was also turned into an anime?  Is that true? I was pretty sure there weren't any animes specifically related to the Megaten series (although there are plenty with similar themes).
