Have you been wondering what that textbook definition of the phrase "second choice" called Ripper Owens has been doing after getting kicked off the Iced Earth merry-go-round?  Has he perhaps learned that he should become the driving creative force behind his own project, that there's more to a musical career than to step in and semi-fill the shoes of a legend?

That's a big fat negative.

Yngwie albums:  where vocalists go to die. :P

I thought Ripper had his own band, Winter's Bane or something?  But, yeah, Yngwie Malmsteen albums have seen some good vocalists tank.

Best Yngwie vocalist IMO was Mike Vescera on 1994's The Seventh Sign album.

I'm not sure if Winter's Bane still does anything, but he does have a project called Beyond Fear which is actually decent.  If he had any fucking sense whatsoever, he'd dedicate his time to that.

About the only thing I can say positive about Yngwie's shitty vocal tunes is that he was the first to unleash the awesomeness that is Mats Leven upon the world.  He really needs to stick to instrumentals. :P

Ripper's problem is that he's a coattail rider by Nature.  He's a great vocalist and Beyond Fear is pretty kick ass, but he's too busy shacking up with people that don't let the vocalists do anything at all.

And truly, singing for Malmsteen?  He'd get more exposure singing for REO Speedwagon.  And we all know the songwriting would be loads better.

Jesus.  Malmsteen.  Good fucking job killing your career, Ripper.  :P
