Quote
This week's Jump magazine contained a tasty treat for Valkyrie Profile fans as Square Enix reveals Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One for the Nintendo DS. Developed by Tri-Ace, the game is the first in the series to feature a male protagonist, a disgruntled soldier named Wilfred, who hates the Valkyries and is out for vengeance using a magical feather given to him by the queen of the underworld. Screens seem to indicate a combination of the traditional profile view as well as an isometric view similar to games like Final Fantasy Tactics, though at this point such details are more speculation than anything solid. A bit of a departure for the series, but with Tri-Ace behind the wheel I cannot help but be a bit giddy at the prospect of more Valkyrie Profile goodness.

hmm... from one of the rarest to find game to a main series for Square Enix... kinda loses its magic, but I'll still play anything that VP related...

This sucks, I don't have a DS and I don't want to play on such a small screen. Looks like I'll have to skip this. I hope they port it to the playstation or I'll never be able to play it.

I was hoping for valkyrie profile Hirist. Oh well, I wanted to see a story focused on my favorite valkyrie. She was so badass. :)

if the game utilizes the touch screen as a core to the gameplay, its going to be hard to port to anything else...

Dang, I was totally on this until I saw DS.  Not really sure there are enough games I want to make me get a DS at this point. :|  This is definitely an extra nudge in that direction though.

I still think that if what you're most interested in are JRPGs, or at least Japanese games period, you really need to get a DS.

... I dunno what to say about this, I'm not the biggest TRPG fan and I have yet to beat VP2 anyway.

I don't understand. Can a game only be 'special' if it's hard to find or not a main series?

Can't complain about more Valkyrie, though I'm in the same boat as Eusis. I haven't even completed VP2 yet-- customization was somewhat daunting/overwhelming for me.

I wasn't expecting a new installment to be on the DS, though. Kinda meh about that.

Actually the only thing preventing you is your stubbornness. I'm hardly the biggest fan of the DS but when a game that isn't Mario or Yoshi or Link and isn't a remake of an existing RPG comes out, it's time to fucking sit up, take notice and vote with your wallet.

By supporting it.

Otherwise the DS is just going to get more fucking Brain Game shovelware.

My problem with S-E is not that they're a big company. Rather, it's that they're developing a track record of diluting their franchises through oversaturation.
