oh ok - sorry man, must have been the midnight making me not think straight

and yeah, it is about money, but if that is always the case, you'd have to wonder why MGS4 is exclusive to the lower selling console, and not being released on the DS...

not that I'd complain, cos if the DS had all my games, I'd be one rich gamer, both financially and in entertainment value...

Well, there's a fine line between MGS4 -- which is a system seller -- and Valkyrie Profile. MGS4'll be huge in Japan and big in North America. As much as I adore Valkyrie Profile, it won't ever push systems sales.

But, I do fervently believe Konami is leaving money on the table by not bringing MGS4 to the Xbox 360. I wouldn't count that out as a future possibility, though ('sup Substance/Sustinence?).

Exactly. Call it console-exclusive to make the console-maker happy and push unit sales. Then, after a year, weasel your way into a deal with other console makers. Profit! :)

That said, I still doubt FFXIII will go to 360. But, we'll see. Maybe Square Enix has good reason to, as you put it, "leave money on the table." Time will tell...

It doesn't matter to me which system they are on. All I want to know is which console the game is on first and that is the system I am going to buy it for, because I am impatient and own both systems already :P.

I am chill. I don't get upset about Internet comments. My point is, and I'm not lumping you into this group, but many gamers -- RPG Fans especially -- tend to think games are made just for them. Cut and tapered to their specific tastes. It's just not the case.

Couldn't have said it better! That was my point before, when I said that posters just start nagging about features/changes their not fond of, and therefore already state that the game would be bad, only based on a few screenshots and a short movie.

Who said it was an SRPG?

That's what I was wondering.

Just because FF12 RW was one doesn't mean this is going to be.

i think it was the isometric view on some screenshots iirc, that prompted some to call it an SRPG...

...but i wouldn't trust my memory...

Thats the reason. Pray that its not a SRPG. Thats not what Valkyrie profile is about. I loved the 2D maps.

While I can't say I'm surprised it has the trademark gameplay, those battle graphics worry me. :(  Oh well, it's more VP, which is a good thing in my book.

Looks like Valkyrie Profile SNES.

I wouldn't really call that "gameplay," but more like a beatdown. It was just a long-ass combo for two minutes.

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm surprised they didn't got for more of a sidescrolling look, like in the original game though.

I'm kinda disappointed they didn't, cause the original was and still is gorgeous. It's not exactly bad but... yeah not what I expected either.
