Nibris, a small Polish developer, are developing a game for the Revolution that will be entirely in black & white. This to invoke a particular atmosphere of Sadness (which is also the name of the game), apparently. I think it sounds like an interesting idea.

I find the comments on the linked article pretty amusing. Seems like a lot of people feel they're not "getting their moneys worth" if a game is in black and white. If it's pulled off with enough style, and if it has a purpose beyond "being innovative" I don't see what the problem is. I don't see anyone complaining about movies that are in black & white to invoke a certain mood, atmosphere or setting.

Better not be a gimmick to hide bad game design behind.

But no one ever does that, right?

I find the idea to be very interesting in my opinion. I can picture it now, the grittiness of the game and since the mood is meant to portray sadness I can just see all the people feeling real down and can attempt to give us some emotional impact.  I am interested enough to know more about the game since this can work if the drama factor and the style is well executed.

And just wow on on the comments. It amazes me show shallow gamers can be.

I think this is great. Not mention the artistic value, the black and white medium has the potential to really change the way we think about games, soon games will on the level of movies. No longer are movies just entertainment, but art. Hopefully games will follow suit soon, and Nintendo is just preparing.
