You can also watch the QuickTime trailer if you, like me, hate Google video
.
The marketing for this film cracks me up.
"If you love the planet...
If you love your children...
You have to see this film."
Oh please. Way to demean an important subject by using sentimental drivel.

Eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Al Gore’s personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change.
...HAHA!
I think I'll pass on seeing this "movie" and watch all the new comic book movies coming out this summer.
Besides, if I had to hear Al Gore ramble for two hours again I'd probably end up in the nuthouse.

I consider myself a liberal who is somewhat concerned about the enviroment, but this..... this just seems like like Al Gore's 2hr ego trip.

Ugh. You know, global warming's bad and all, but some silly liberal propaganda shockumentary isn't the best way to go about raising awareness.

On that note, I just remembered a passage from the textbook for my Astronomy class that talked briefly about global warming. It said something to the effect that the Earth's average surface temperature had risen about .7 degrees fahrenheit since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. The writers seemed to take the same stance as that article in thinking it had been overblown by leftist politicians as a campaign tool. It also mentioned the fact the Earth has
naturally
gone through huge climate changes in the past, and that we shouldn't assume the same thing can't happen again.
EDIT:
Here is a link to that textbook
. Though my class did use the previous edition.

Love how we're turning the future of our planet into a partisan, redteam/blueteam discussion. Because that's what's important, my left wing pundit said as much.

To both sides of the aisle....
WAH WAH WAH....
The earth went through a fucking ice age....and it warmed back up....and now it's warming again (MAYBE). Who gives a shit, knowing our luck we're gonna die off because of another ice age. Shit happens, we're not the sole cause of this global "warming"....so
Left Wingers: Shut the fuck up you sniveling babies.
Right Wingers: Sell the fucking SUV you gas guzzling asswipes.

From what I know, changing climate due to solar wind is because the magnetic fields and all that good stuff around the Earth is indeed weakening, but not because we're causing it, it's that the Earth is due for it. Every few hundred years the world's magnetic poles kind of mix together and then repolarize on opposite sides of the world, so effectively we'll end up having North as South and South as North. Before that happens, the fields will have to weaken, and therefore will cause changing climates, temperatures, and holes in the atmosphere that raise the chance of getting cancer.
