I got the latest issue of Terrorizer (special journey into town!), and am on the first track of the Fear Candy CD, which is:
Gojira - Flying Whales (Live)
And it's absolutely friggin' amazing. Methinks I'll be picking up one of their CD's!

That's the only Beatles album I've heard but it's one of my favorites ever.

Uh, let's see... What music have I bought in the last while...? Well, it's an odd mix, to say the least.
-- Live It Out - Metric
-- Old World Underground - Metric
-- Turn The Radio Off - Reel Big Fish
-- Let It Die - Feist
-- Wire And Glass (Single) - The Who
-- NaStradamus - Nas
...I think that's it.
Oh, and I recently picked up tickets to see The Who live in Toronto, at the Air Canada Centre on December 4th. Totally beyond excited about that. And, I'm currently hunting down decent tickets to see Billy Talent (featuring Rise Against, .moneen., and Anti-Flag,) in February. Not going to miss that one--I already had to miss Metric in the summer, and boy, was I pissed.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's become my second favourite Beatles album. I'd recommend the 'White' album to you. It's their only double-album, and it's easily their most progressive. It's very experimental and varied, yet all the tracks hold together really well. It also has some longer songs, like Abbey Road, which make it a more satisfying experience than other Beatles albums, plus the fact that it's two discs worth.

Therion - Gothic Kabbalah
...Man, this is a hell of a lot less epic than their last two. I'd hate to call it a step backwards, but that's the vibe I've gotten after a listen. But that male metal vocalist that sang on those last two is back here and kicking tons of ass, so it's certainly good, and the fat bitch from Cradle of Filth is still blessedly absent. \m/

I went to the Journey/Def Leppard concert last night. Yeah I know I'm two decades late but damn it was a great show. Sure Steve Perry wasn't there to sing for Journey but the new guy they have sure sounded like him. Plus he's 100x better looking too so it was nice staring at him for a while. I didn't realize that the drummer was the one who sang two of my favorite Journey songs: Open Arms and Faithfully. He sounded just like he does on the radio.
As great as Journey was, Def Leppard was even better. Sometimes, they didn't stop between song and just continued into another one. I didn't realize I knew so many of their songs. I was singing and screaming and dancing. I had so much fun. The guys look really good too for being around so long. One guy had his shirt off the whole show. He had a great body, but I'm not sure if that was a good choice since he had some low rise jeans on and from where I was sitting I could see some major crackage. Oh well, it was still great!

I - Between Two Worlds
Abbath's new 'supergroup.' It felt like I hadn't bought a full on metal CD in ages. And I'm certainly not disappointed, this is really good shit.

Clueless- Def Leppard was my first concert. It was back in '92, I was 14, and Ugly Kid Joe (who sang that "I hate everything about you") song opened for them. Both bands put on a heck of a show. I'd totally go see Lep again because I know they totally bring it when they hit the stage.
Anyway, I just purchased "The Black Circus Part 1~ Letters" by Manticora from iTunes. Dark, sinister, delightfully dark power prog metal. Totally up my alley and totally awesome. I can't wait for part 2.
2006 has been an incredible year for metal, what with really good albums by DragonForce, Dysrhythmia, Iron Maiden, and more. I'd have to put this Manticora album up there with those elite 2006 releases.

Deg, good choice. I might get that album sometime this weekend if I feel not lazy. I got paid for my two days at work last week and cleared 196 quid.
For two days! Not even 7.5 hour days, but just 7 hour days. Fucking intense.
Since I am now swimming in cash again, I got Deicide's self titled debut and a pair of boots.

Joanna Newsom - Ys.
It's not metal so none of you care, I guess.

I freaking love Joanna Newsom. My bandmates saw her play a basement show in New Brunswick earlier this year and played me one of her CDs. It was really freaking good.
I'm so glad to see that her talent has spread, since you and Nemmet are listening to her.
If you like Joanna Newsom, give Regina Spektor a listen. She does a kitschy anti-folk songwriting that's really original.
