I still think a giant fat cat who is a mob boss and has a habit of getting drunk all the time is better addition to the crazy JRPG characters list.

Boring wolf in Vesperia is boring. Wow, a wolf in a Japanese game. Because we didn't just get finished with Okami and Zelda: Twilight Princess. Get out.
Don't forget Blanca in Shadow Hearts II, or that wolf from one of the Suikoden games.
Is it just my strange way of looking at things, or did FFVII start the trend of putting "space aliens" (rather seemingly out-of-place characters) in RPGs with Red XIII and Cait Sith?

meh... that comes second only to the smoking wolf in Vesperia...
The fucking wolf is retarded. It has a fucking shark tail and a stupid accessory. What kind of animal fucking smokes? They just ran out of ideas and stuck a pipe in its mouth and a sword on its back that it can't possibly physically wield. Why? To be totally hip.

Anyway, it's a dread that nobody knows the name for, like those little square plastic gizmos that close your bread bags. I don't know the name for those either."

Dude... the pipe smoking wolf is the awesome-ist shit I've seen since sliced bread. No one complained about P3's Koromaru and he offered less story than what looks like the blue-pup will. =P

My god, that bear looks so happy to be uppercutting that soldier. My interest in this game has risen immensely.

If the characters are interesting that's good, but if they're not I'm kind of ambivalent.

So are the private events like the ones in FFIX where it went to the other characters in a different scene from the one you're playing in?

I'm using the dog for the very reason it smokes a pipe. Can't see that shit everyday... except in some crack addicts vivid imagination.... or Alice in Wonderland and/or English storybook.

It sounds like Star Ocean 2's events where you have scenes with them and they react to what you say.

Combat -- at least from what we've seen -- doesn't seem mundane. Unfortunately, things are so hectic that the framerate suffers regularly. Throughout our demo, the framerate dipped during Capell's biggest moves. With Infinite Undiscovery just a few weeks away, the framerate is likely not getting any better. That's just something RPG fans will have to live with. At least the rest of the Undiscovery seems promising.
Consider me disappointed. I have yet to play a JRPG on the 360 that doesn't have some framerate issues (Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey). And no, I won't play Enchanted Arms, and never will. I hated the first hour of the game, so I quit (meaning I have no clue if there were framerate issues). Thats what we get when Japanese developers start developing on an American made console. Come on Microsoft! Help them already! /sigh
