Not ALL of it, just the good stuff.

England's been going totalitarian for years, so this comes as no real surprise to me.  The best part of the article is a quote from Lord Wallace of Tankerness.  I wish our politicians had awesome job descriptions like that. :P

I'm not offended...nor do I get turned on.

Usually, if I see it, I just had trouble taking my eyes of this type on counts of how fucked up it is.

I don't really care but (with the definition given in the article) I can kinda see where this is coming from.  Banning it seems "extreme" itself, but seeing as how the genre of kiddie porn is banned, then I can see how "life-threatening"-looking porn could be seen nearly as offensive.  This is probably just me though.

The law is too vague. Based on this I would say that if a video shows any sort  of rough sex or bondage then the person watching it will get in trouble. All the police/judge/politician has to do is say "Well, it appears someone is being hurt". That is shit.

I don't disagree with the really extreme stuff-Rape, necrophilia (or even pretend necrophilia), being sodomized by a baseball bat so hard you bleed. Those kinds of things are a little bit too out there. It's the broadness of the bill that makes me question it.

What the fuck? Kiddie porn is banned because it is the exploitation of children, most of whom have it done against their will. I say most because sometimes when they are older they want to for some reason or another. Comparing kinky porn with two consenting adults and kiddie porn where a child is exploited is just asinine. All right, we are going to use a fan brush here and uh why don't you take some hunter green and we are going to put a happy little bush right down over here in the corner there and that'll just be our little secret and if you tell anyone that that bush is there I will come to your house and I will cut you.

I'm trying to go with the definition on the link...

Quote
As defined by the new Criminal Justice Bill...
-An act which threatens or appears to threaten a person's life
-An act which results in or appears to result in serious injury to a person's anus, breasts or genitals
-An act which involves or appears to involve sexual interference with a human corpse
-A person performing or appearing to perform an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal

To me, thats just as fucked in some ways as child exploitation.  They deal with different ground, sure, but just as much would make me say "ew wtf this is nutty!!" just the same.

Uh huh.

When you get fined for littering when your popsicle drips on the ground or you get fined because you were listening to your music too loud on the tube...

Then again, public intoxication is legal.

I mean, I'm all for cracking down harshly on civil liberties, but either do it right or don't do it at all.

I guess there is Tijuana if that ever does get banned.

How is banning hardcore, kinky pornography because someone who's a murderer happens to watch it any different from banning a violent video game when some school shooter happens to play them?

With all the horrors the internet has wrought upon my brain, I am fully supportive of this bill.

The fact that people get harassed by police for taking pictures in public places, where it's legal to do so, and make up shit like people needing camera licences, mean it isn't that far from it.
