Lots of thought provoking and eloquently stated videos regarding gender roles and feminism/masculinism in this person's channel. Don't read the comments - they're Youtube comments, so you know what to expect - but the videos are incredible. If you consider yourself an advocate of gender equality, you NEED to see these videos to make sure you're on the right page.

I fucking loved how shitty the consolation prizes.  Thanks for coming on the show!  You win a pack of NERDS CANDAAAAAYYYY!

Or a Duncan yo-yo.  I grew up watching all this Nickelodeon stuff and I love seeing it again here and there.  I feel like buying all the dvds I can of these shows so I can show them to my kids someday and maybe they'll like watching them as much as I did as a kid.

Hell. Even the kids that made it into the temple proper got screwed over with an RC truckster.

Also, it's still amazing just how complicated that temple really was. Every room had like three or four exits and a unique gimmick and even the ones that opened might still lead into a dead end. The temple guards were also a great 'fuck you' if your team wasn't packing two full pendants of light.

Still, my favorite Nickelodeon game show was the older versions of Double Dare with Wild and Crazy Kids a close second. Still, this one's right up there and that Animal Planet knock off wasn't even a pale shadow (even if the prizes were better).

I also loved Double Dare.  Fun fact: During a family trip to Disney World, an 8 year old Akanbe got to go on the Double Dare stage and play one of the Double Dare Versus games with an audience watching, but it wasn't televised nor was it a regular taping.  I can't remember exactly how it happened but I remember volunteering and getting picked.

For some reason, I can't remember Wild and Crazy Kids.  The name definitely rings a bell, but I can't remember much else.

Hell yeah.  The temple was a damn good challenge.  Iirc, I don't remember that many teams winning it.

Lucky bastard.

As for W&CK the only defining feature was that it had three hosts with a team of kids to each of them. Other than that there really wasn't any structure to the show though the most common set up would involve the three hosts getting into a dispute which ended up requiring the three teams of kids to be pitted against each other so that the winning team's host would have neener neener rights. The reason why I liked it was because it gave no fucks about having a formula beyond having three events per episode.

Probably shouldn't double post but at least it's not about ancient Nickelodeon game shows.

The one he said at the beginning about the little guy running alongside him, I used to do that all the time while thinking of the mute city theme, only my buddy was megaman or zero, depending on how I felt.

Only in Japan folks, only in Japan... I mean seriously, where else would they come up with a contraption like this.

"With the alignment set appropriately, the system will fire BB's when the pilot smiles. This feature is called "THE SMILE SHOT" you will be able to take out all enemies with a single smile."

That's pretty a dumb feature to have in what is suppose to be a weapon. Then again, it seemed to be just a lame joke for the video.

Fuck, I was going to post that. :(

Oh well, I still get a kick out of the whole "The LOHAS launcher will not hurt anyone. The weapon lacks the ability to rotate or piviot. From time to time will hit it's target." bit.

Also, you can own one too for the low, low price of roughly 1.3 million yen.

I would seriously consider buying one if it was only 1.3 million yen.  That's a friggin bargain.

But no, it's 1.3 million dollars.  Slight difference...
