I am in no way a TV junkie, but my current job pretty much prohibits any Adult Swim from schedule, unless it's a Friday or Saturday, so I was looking for a decent show to follow. However, I do not want to bother with any CSI, Law and Order, 24, The Shield-esque series. I'm also not fond of reality TV, or any of the such. I know that's a large chunk of programming to cut, but is there any good shows at all? I'm open to cartoon suggestions too, in fact I prefer them.

The only show I watch on TV is also Lost, the rest I usually download. The stuff I download is usually, Simpson, Southpark, Family Guy, The Boondocks, and Doctor Who(new series rocks).

I third Lost. It's just great. Second series finally starts here next Tuesday!!!
Also, as Logick says, Doctor Who rules, but I have no idea if they're showing that over there.

24. Is. Awesome. I'm sorry you aren't into it, because it rules.
They're making an EbaumsWorld TV show hosted by Chris Jericho (former wrestler, funny guy). Daily Show, Colbert, South Park, Mind of Mencia.... Bill Maher's good if you like (his) politics... Alias is about to end its series, what a show... Prison Break is awesome too but I don't know if they're currently showing episodes.
Desperate Housewives is great as well... there are a lot of others I'm forgetting. The Adult Swim lineup is great, especially Boondocks, Family Guy and Robot Chicken. I also really like The Venture Bros.

I've seen some of 24 and wasn't very impressed. It's a cool concept, I just loathe police drama.

Lost is the best drama on TV now, but unless you rent/buy the first season DVD and then wait for the second season DVD release, you won't be able to enjoy it. You can't really miss any episodes. It's a brilliant show, with a great method of character development. I was hooked from the first episode.
More good shows: Family Guy, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Scrubs, Boston Legal (unless you don't like law comedy-dramas either), Medium, and 24.

I watch Samurai Champloo, and Stand Alone Complex religiously... Those are the only shows I watch on t.v besides the news.

Lost is good but a new viewer might get a little lost.
House is a good medical drama with a whole bunch of snark. You can jump in at any time.
