If it is true, I hope it isn't a God damn OVA in which is 40+ hour game(it only took me 47 hours and I'm slow at finishing times) is condensed into four 30-minute episodes like Symphonia was.

See, Symphonia's anime was /balls/. Utter, terrible, faggotry.

On the other hand, if you say Phantasia's OVA, that was pretty good. Hopefully Abyss will be more like Phantasia's quality work.

Yeah it was dude. Pretty high-quality animation and direction, and while the story was... adequate at best, it was still a damned far throw better than Symphonia's waste of time.

Animation being good counts for nothing; I've seen regular series with animation superior to Phantasia. Direction was lacking. Story and pacing were non-existant. I'd go so far as to say that Symphonia's was better despite having inferior animation quality.

The only Tales anime that did it right was Eternia. It had decent animation and a story that wasn't a reimagining of the game, but presented itself as a side story so that it supplemented the game instead of trying to retell it. Even Star Ocean EX couldn't do the game's story justice and it was 26 episodes long.

Hopefully they won't continue a trend for the trend's sake.

Most people are vying for an original story when it comes to the Tales' animations.  Eternia did do it right.  Learn.

Otherwise, yay!  Animation version.
With probably a new, pretty, ambient opening.

I'd like to see it, since (like Symphonia and the 2D Phantasia), in-game action sequences are pretty bland.

Confirmed for a Fall release.  Rumor has it its going to be the 26-ep-length.

I like this since most of Abyss' "action" scenes were pretty lame to watch and some character renders looked like paper cutouts.
