It'd honestly seem a little weird to progress on that front while regressing the presentation to an 8-bit level.

The more I think about it, the more I think this is great. It is pretty weird to go from 7, 8, and arguably Powered Up to this, but hell. There's a bizarre delight in getting a new 'NES' game. Makes me hope we get at least SE's horror game/8-bit RPG here.

I'm glad they're making it 8-bit- Not because I'm a huge fan of the graphics, but because for some reason all the 8-bit Megaman games always felt a lot faster-paced to me. Perhaps it's only because of the multiple frames they had to add in for Megaman's animations, but Megaman 7 and 8 felt like they were going in slow motion when compared to 1-6.

Fucking awesome.

And does that pic above the paragraph stating "they can't reveal all the details" look like a ghost run to anyone else? Fuck me sideways if this game has time trials or -gasp- leaderboards.

Game of the year indeed.

Is this a confirmed WiiWare exclusive, or will it be going to PSN and Xbox Live too? I'd rather get it for Live.

After reading this interview with Inafune, I've come around from my undecided status on this game. :P  If the goal, as it seems to be, is "shoot for the awesomeness of Mega Man 2", then I can only give my seal of approval.

Yeah, in the future, it may release on XBL and PSN.

Footage guys!

Even if it gets ported I'd rather just have the Wii version since it's a return to the old style, so having it on the original brand as well as a controller similar to the original (plus a d-pad worth a fuck) would be much nicer than something that'd throw on some silly window for widescreen and the typical XBLA trappings that could hamper the retro feel. Also, hopefully they'll release the 6 NES Megaman games here so I can just grab at least the first three and have them alongside the new one.

I like how they added new features, like Megaman rotating around spinning platform completely. The music sound great, too.

Confirmed to also come to PSN and XBLA, plus a new trailer.

Edit: I dunno whether to be glad they're sticking with the Japanese look for the logo and ditching the arbitrary changes or to be disappointed they aren't making a throwback to the American look to go with the 8-bit look.

Just saw that Eus, and fuck that's great news. Mega Man 9, achievement points, leaderboards... seriously best gaming news I've heard in a long, long time.

That trailer is fucking awesome.  Capcom games always had the most awesome music back in the day, and it doesn't look like that's changed much with this game. :P

That trailer is just pure bliss.

I can't express with any amount of superlatives or hyperbole how massive by gaming boner is right now.
