That trailer is just pure bliss.

I can't express with any amount of superlatives or hyperbole how massive by gaming boner is right now.

ditto.

I love how this section of the forum is "endlessparadeofMegamansequelsFan" ... and here we are. But honestly, this is like THE only thing I could ever want. A return to the oldskool.

And y'know what would really be awesome? It's nearly confirmed that Yoko Shimomura was part of the old Capcom sound team that did Megaman 1~3, and the devs have said that one of the "original members" is helping do the music to this one. Hmm...

Uh, wow. I thought you were joking with that, but apparently that's the "official" boxart.

Seeing as I saw that here first I had little doubt of the authenticity. Though it was just a goofy t-shirt the staff got to wear at E3 and will be sold in a few months to the public.

Even so, I still find it hilarious that the folks at Capcom decided to do this on their own. Gotta love the 80s when games have terrible box art but have great gameplay inside. It's the opposite a lot nowadays. =P

Achievements have been revealed, and they are awesome:

Mild spoilers, for those who care. Bosses look good. Also,
Code:
PROTOMAN!

Can't wait for this game.

Damn, those achievements are sweet! I don't have the time or energy now, but when I was in high school I would have been all over those.

I still might try for some, though. Under an hour has always been a strong one for me with the Megaman series.

A US release date better be next month, as is the JP date.

Megaman isn't exactly hard literature to translate. :P

I actually don't like most of the new robot master designs...I like Magma Man and Splash Woman and that's about it.

I'm more worried about the new weapons, really. That's what makes a good Megaman. Recent Megaman games have a bad habit of giving us utterly useless weapons (Oil Slide for example).

Especially since half the dialogue at a minimum is already translated! Not that I have any numbers, but if there's significantly more dialogue in the rest of the game than the intro I'll be shocked.

I'm hoping for a few NES-graphic cinemas. =P

They did it in Megaman IV, and that was for the GB. They did say they wanted to "push the limits" of 8-bit, whatever that's supposed to mean.

Items revealed a few weeks ago, but I guess I should post it here for those who are interested:

Quote
1Up
Energy Can
Mystery Can
Eddie Call
Energy Balancer
Beat Call
Shock Guard
Guard Up
Costume (Roll)
Hairstyle Book

Shock Guard gives defense against spikes, guard up halves damage. They said the costume will let you have a roll sprite when playing, which I suppose is some random gimmick people have wanted...implementing it through cross-dressing Megaman is not very graceful I say. :P

Guess this means no slide or charge shot, even through the item replicator...of course those things might be something added in upon a second playthrough?

Are these items purchased or all items?

Slide could be something found in the levels, like attack 1,2, and 3. Or Rush/Beat.
