After playing the new patch and trying the changes I'm fine with it. I have to look at it not do much as "nerfng" which is the key word about changes but as making adjustments in game play and trying things out. I don't like how certain bosses particularly Ikatzu ( and prolly others like him) dont drop blues everytime but, this just makes you go out and farm the game more.
2 things annoy me tho.
Repair costs are unnecessarily high
and ...
the empty containers are plain silly to me. That's a Fable 3 level f@#k up imo.
but ya, still loving it

they get no love from me there. old system rocked, find em, transmute em done.
where are the rest of the gem types anyway? no diamonds? a ploy for all resist stuff to sell?
no skulls? meh.
but ya, they balanced some things out more than people realized at first I think.

I'm having trouble settling on a monk build. I guess that's the beauty of being able to change your shit at will, but the options are almost overwhelming. Been dicking around with the idea of a dodge build like:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aZhdfX!cUW!ZZccYa
Or something that can take a few hits:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#WfjigQ!YUZ!aZcaab
Or something that can kite:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#bZgdkj!Yca!bcaYba
This is all theory crafting since I haven't even gotten to Act 3 in normal yet. :P

this game is getting better
people's complaints about repairs make no sense
if you have a 5 stack of NV then you get a rare per elite (sometimes 2-3 rares) , if you do this in inferno, chances of getting those big drops are well worth the price of repair
got about 7 mill in drops this weekend between my friend and I... was it worth the 10-15k repairs every 30-45 min ?
...yes...
as long as I get the elites dead and get the big drops, take the death and repairs and its no biggie.

I'm not much of a TC'er, but I think Breath of Heaven with Blazing Wrath rune might be considered mandatory. 15% damage with possible 100% uptime is really good. Monk has some other damn good defensive abilities too though so who knows.

Inferno isnt that bad...
I have a barb and a DH in inferno. Barb is in act 2 and DH is still in act 1.
theres a pretty large pool of cheap rares going round so, you can gear up for inferno pretty cheap. I geared up my DH for the inferno transition from hell for around 300-500k total.
and i bought a ammy for 300k, coulda spent a bit less there.

Finally hit 51 and I'm on hell mode. Switched up some skills to something more defensive and immediately bought some new weapons. Should be interesting.

Why not continue into act 2? Do you just need better gear or are you looking for good drops to sell?

I can play act II for a while but the repair costs are too much so I'm basically farming 1 in the hopes of finding good items for the AH. It's basically a money thing because while my gear is fine for now, I'm going to need better if I want to go through act 2 comfortably. Plus I have to craft some stars and thats expensive as hell...at least for me.

New system incoming.
Blizzard D3 Blog update:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6968517/Introducing_the_Paragon_System-8_20_2012
Quote
Here’s how it works:
After you hit level 60, any further experience you earn from killing monsters will begin to count toward Paragon levels
There are 100 Paragon levels
Every Paragon level will reward you with:
- Core stats such as Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality in amounts similar to what you’d gain from a normal level
- 3% Magic Find and 3% Gold Find
In addition, a distinctive increasingly-impressive border will surround your character portrait in the in-game party frame to denote your Paragon progression, with a new frame earned after every ten levels. Your Paragon level will also be visible to other players wherever your normal level is shown

I like their 'magic find sucks' explanation.
...because magic find sucks.
