by the time the game's released, you could probably make a computer that'd meet the suggested requirements for a couple hundred bucks tops.

My problem is that I'm on the road all the time, and my computer is a laptop that my company issued me.  I can't upgrade its hardware, and I'm totally not willing to cart around two laptops.  It's an "occupational hazard." :)

Loved Diablo 1 and 2, 3 is looking good, too.  Like others have mentioned, though, here's hoping it comes out sometime in the next decade. :P

Not a fan of the series,(high-fantasy, which I really don't like)but maybe I keep my attention on this.

I'm currently reinstalling Diablo II and LoD as I have a year+ to wait for DIII and I need to do SOMETHING.  :P

I'll be playing on US East if anyone wants to grind some demons some time.  I'm rolling a Frozen Orb specced Sorcy.  :P

The announcement got me in the mood to play the two games again. I'm all willing to play with you after I'll finish the first Diablo. :P

so glad Blizzard supports Mac...

in any case, looks like they are adding random scripted events:

Quote
"The random scripted events sound like one of the coolest additions to the game. Each playthrough, players will encounter scenarios that are quite different from their previous trip through the game. In one area, you might see a house filled with undead enemies--along with a story about the home's former residents. The second time you play through that same area might contain a caravan that you'll be prompted to escort to safety. The next time that area might simply be filled with monsters just begging for the opportunity to be killed by you."

as if the game wasn't heat enough...

I have to say after getting around to seeing the gameplay video that I'm definitely more excited about Diablo III now, as it looks like there are some pretty nice changes.  One thing that always bugged me about Diablo II (in Diablo it wasn't too bad because the sorcerer was the only slightly crippled class in that regard) was just how limiting it was to have just a couple skills available at a time when you'd end up having quite a few you could potentially use at higher levels, depending on the class.

Am I the only one who thinks Diablo 1 is better than Diablo 2?

Anyway, I'm not really excited about Diablo 3, but I'll give it a shot when it comes out.

I liked the personality of the characters in the town more, but other than that, I couldn't get quite as much into the first as I did into the second.  You aren't the only one who preferred the first though.

I've never read the Sin War books (dunno what those are), but I do recall listening to some story bits in the PS version of Diablo. There's supposedly still two guys down in hell that were at the same level of Andariel and Duriel. Forgot what their names were, though.

Belial and Azmodan. I doubt it's about them though. And after looking at the Diablo III website my earlier guess that it would be a prequel was also proven wrong.

Probably.  Don't get me wrong, it does some things well. For example I always felt that Diablo had a darker feel than Diablo II. Still, gameplay wise Diablo I really doesn't give you many options. Hell, your max stats are determined by your class.

with the exception of FF XIII an vs XIII this is the the most anticipated game for me.

Also im very eagerly awaiting Mass Effect 2 gotta love Bioware the only company that can come close to Blizzards greatness in PC-RPGs

Not sure what all the bitching about the change is graphics is.

Diablo 2 completely threw away the amtosphere and darkness that Diablo 1 had for a more bright and colorful game world. If anything, Diablo 3 is going for a MORE sinister look than Diablo 2 had.

Yeah, this whole petition thing is ridiculous.  Although, it's a classic example of the internet striking again.  Everyone waited years for this game to come, then when it was announced, everyone came buckets, but the next day they decided to return to being hideous sociopaths and hating that it wasn't "GRIM DARK" enough.

I think it looks good.  And I think people need to move out of their parent's basements.  :P

I think it's more 'woo Diablo 3!' but then a few got upset at how it looked and went straight to bitching. Even though now that I'm actually playing it Diablo 2 can be fairly colorful at times...
