What? People are bitching about things not being bleak enough? They must have released some new screens or something, because the shit I saw had an atmosphere reminiscent of the first game. I can only assume the people complaining about this are invoking something similar to the First Rule of Internet Black Metal Discussion: "If more than three people like something, it isn't black enough".

I will say that some of those outside shots remind me of Azshara, the little WoW zone that couldn't. But that's not so bad, because I kinda liked the look of that place. :P

I don't want to go back to the first few pages but did I miss something here? I mean, this discussion about not being dark enough wasn't started by my post was it? If it was I should clarify that I was comparing Diablo and Diablo II, and didn't say anything about III. And there's really nothing wrong with DII...

Also, what's this about a petition? I know I'm usually pretty critical of things even before they come out but still? This just SOUNDS ridiculous.

...Do people really have this much free time? And do they think crying on Youtube or dumbonlinepetitionsite.com will make Blizzard change their minds on things they have been working on for literally years now?

I noticed that too, especially with the petition to bring back the old Diablo graphic style. Frankly, people just need to figure out that each game has its own direction. If you want a game that's exactly the same as one you've played, PLAY THE OLD GAME, DAMN IT.

Reminds me of all the people who do nothing but complain about movie sequels/adaptations coming out the past few years (Die Hard 4, IJ4, Transformers, etc) and how they "shame" the previous work. That really gets on my nerves.

Well Die Hard 4 is almost understandable but not the others :P

I'm looking forward to Diablo 3 but really I play Diablo 2 every day now and it's just plain fun so I'm in no rush. Also I really want a different game. I don't see the point playing the exact same game again.

I hope you're just talking about the people that take it too far. If so I have no problem with that statement.

Honestly though, there's nothing wrong with having opinions or previewing games. I mean, Diablo II is probably among my top 3 favorite rpgs but I still had plenty to bitch about. Sure, I probably sounded like a whiny asshole at times but i'ts not that I didn't like the game at all. The point is no game is ever perfect and there will always be something for someone to complain about regardless.
