So I just watched the intro sequence to the game on youtube, which also includes a glimpse of the start up menu (you know, the place where you "Press Start"), and I have to say, that has got to be the most stylistic menu I've seen in my entire life. In fact, the game in general looks like it's going to be incredible eye candy. I'm also really enjoying the music. The boss music is really reminiscent of the stuff heard in DDS and Nocturne, so I'm digging it.

Nah, it's about the same. At least Meguro's been consistent with staying above average in his work.

It really depends on your tastes. I personally loved P3's music as hip-hop is my favorite style of music (though I can't stand the actual songs these days.)

I've read numerous reviews about how awful the music was, like X-Play's review, but they seem to be anti-Japanese anyways.

I hate rap/hip hop but I love P3's music. and I'm loving P4's music, especally the Boss Battle music (its pure EPIC).

Quite a bit of the game is recycled, even some tracks, so don't worry there.

Normally I'd agree; but I've heard a lot of similar tunes from what Shigu said the page before.

Yeah, it's definitely a taste thing.  I'm not adverse to hip hop, but it's not my favorite type of music.  I liked the music in P3, but the battle themes in P4 have me hooked so far.

A little late (it's been a busy week), but here are my first impressions:

It's Persona 3, but better.  There are three difficulty levels which are selectable right off the bat, the player has full control of the entire party, there are many more dungeons, and the soundtrack is pretty sweet.  It has a "J-Girl Garage Band" thing goin' on.  Thus far, the storyline seems solid, and the characters are equally (if not more) likable than the previous game's cast.  I'm enjoying it a lot, despite the game's setting (the Japanese 'inaka,' or rural countryside) reminding me a little too much of my own town, lol.

Persona 4 sold an impressive ~148,000 copies on its launch day, btw.  For a niche title from a small developer (on the PlayStation 2 in 2008, no less), those are some sweet sales.

OK, so we have full control of the party and multiple dungeons. Ready for the perfect game people?
I was hoping for characters half as good as the ones in P3. Even better you say? If I like this game even more than P3 it will simply be my favorite game ever, no contest.
