Three SNES remakes in the space of a year?
Over excessive, dontcha think?
Actually I totally agree with you there, it seems like they havent put out an new/original game since FFXII.

I find game companies have an interesting balance between leveraging new experimental titles and milking the older ones.
Well, whatever, with this one, eyes on Squeenix again.

I can't believe people are complaining that Square Enix would port Chrono Trigger. It baffles me beyond belief. It's one of the greatest RPG's ever made, and I will gladly buy it because paying 80 bucks for a used cartridge for the SNES on Ebay is freaking ridiculous. And don't even think about telling me to go play a ROM, because I want to OWN the game.

And they should do this!
I get so sick of people bitching that a remake or a rerelease is coming from a developer that has quite a few projects in the works. How about you just shut up and let the company release things that havent been widely available for over a decade?!
I was talking to my 15 year old cousin a couple weeks ago, and he had never heard of Chrono Trigger or Chrono Cross......It's for this reason that they want to do remakes, to hit that audience that may have missed out, or were simply not old enough to know of these titles. OR MAYBE to cash in on the nostalgia factor. I just recently replayed Chrono Trigger and I KNOW i'm gonna buy this remake.
People just need to pull the wooden tampons out of their ass and either pretend remakes dont exist or become horrifically disfigured in a chemical accident resulting in split personalities.

Its a good argument. I mean, hell, I'll put on a good shirt twice. Especially if I get to wear with a nice sweater!
Horrible analogy; but I'll play a game twice if I knew I can get a beefed up, tweaked up version.
In terms of company decisions, I couldn't care less. Sure, theres smart adn dumb moves; but in the end, what I choose not to buy doesn't affect me (so take that Dragon Quest remakes).

I support this wholeheartedly! I still have the CT PS1 port that came with FF Chronicles, but one on the DS, with better framerate and hopefully new content, would tickle me several shades of pink.

HOLY SHIT.
A PLAYABLE PORT.
The PS1 game does not count as ten minute load times to get to my menu is not allowed.

my thoughts exactly. The PS1 port shouldn't count, so this would be the first *worthwhile* port of the game.
Though I'd rather have it on a television, I guess handheld will work. :)

i'm guessing this won't be a port - having the FF3 and 4 engine for the DS already, it would be logical they'd use that, no?
If so - i would be excited
If not, read my previous post...

Being able to play it on telly would be great, but this A) Involves a VC release that will never happen or B) Losfer shelling out $10000 for an original copy of the game. :P
I'll wait for the $40 handheld. :(((

There's already leaked magazine scanes showing 2-D gameplay according to IGN, so its definitely not going to be a 3-D remake.

Come on, that's half the appeal of this port! I can take it on the go wherever! I still have my SNES game anyway with functioning battery (unless it died in the last year) though it'd be kinda nice if SE would wisen up about releasing downloadable games. Given Xenogears though, I guess they are.
