I gotta admit this exemplifies some of the ridiculous crap religions believe in.  OH NOES HE HAS A PIECE OF BREAD THAT WE DECIDED TO MAKE HOLY, HES KIDNAPPING GOD BLAH BLAH BLAH.

But alas, both parties are stupid imo.

The Eucharist is a small bread wafer blessed by a priest. According to Catholics, the wafer becomes the Body of Christ once blessed and is to be consumed immediately after a minister passes it out to churchgoers.

Jesus is best served with a light-bodied red wine.  I prefer a good Beaujolais Nouveau; if you're a cheap bitch you can serve your Savior with a blush wine a la white Zinfandel, although the sweetness of that may well overpower the taste of the proverbial flesh.

Very true.  The dude filing a complaint was appropriate, but his comments were misinformed at best.  (For one thing, he doesn't understand what "publicly funded" means.)

Being the resident Catholic, I'd like to go on record as saying we aren't all quite that extreme on the interpretation of the belief of transubstantiation.

They would be the anti-christ and must be taken away for immediate exorcism/execution.

I'd like to go on record as a non-Christian who went to a Catholic school and has been to many churches in his time as saying: Holy shit, I think this is the first time I've EVER seen a Roman Catholic institution act like this.

Also: Would it have killed him to explain to THEM what he intended? Not to excuse their... being totally ridiculous about this, but it would have been the path of least resistance. Ask permission? Just maybe?
