We'll see it this Monday, so I'm making the thread. I'll definitely grab it, but I think this shows we won't get the DS ports... which I'm kinda glad for really. Ys II would be worth the 30, but Ys 1 is roughly as long as Portal and not anywhere near as well crafted.

...Ooh! I wasn't aware this was coming out! I've always wanted to try Ys I and II, so this is awesome news.

Now there's the little problem of MONEY. :|

Eh, too bad I sold my Wii. Still pretty cool, though. I didn't expect Ys games to come to the Virtual Console.

It was rated for nearly a year. While I can see surprise at it coming out at all it wasn't like this was completely unexpected.

Well, I never really pay attention to this sort of stuff, let alone Wii related information. I really had no idea that it was rated for nearly a year. Still, I'm fine playing them on PC.

Yeah, so we didn't get Ys despite Hudson's announcement. Nor did we get Samurai Shodown II or Megaman 1. What the fuck are you doing Nintendo?

That was a letdown. Sure, I already played the great PC remakes, but I like to try it out on the TGCD.

Thanks!

My best guess (assuming Nintendo isn't arbitrarily spiteful here) is that the games had too much overlap of player bases so that they'd kill each other if released at once, and they haven't done three VC releases on a single day in forever. That doesn't really explain delaying ALL of them and not just one or two, but then a Sonic title was put up that day.

Downloaded it tonight. I'm quite impressed at the music and voicework in the game so far. Makes me hopeful that maybe other CD formats - like the Sega CD - can be emulated someday.

Of course, I then died trying to get money for a SHIELD. Grrr. :(
