Beijing is one of the most smoggy and polluted cities in the world, but then again, as a cycling enthusiast myself, even in the rural part of New Jersey I go riding in I still have to share the road with cars so I'm practically fellating exhaust pipes.
If any of you read Calvin & Hobbes, you'll know that Calvin's dad is an avid cyclist and rants about how "cyclists have a right to the road too you noisy overpolluting road hogs! I hope gas goes up to 8 bucks a gallon!"
I'll admit. I'm scared of cyclists. I have this unrealistic fear that if I don't go halfway into the oncoming traffic lane I'm going to kill someone trying to pass one. So if there's something actually coming I slow down and nervously try to pass without having a heart attack.

Beijing is a shithole and if the athletes had any conscience, they wouldn't even be there.
And if you had any conscience you'd go have yourself a nice cup of Drano.

If you idiots turn this into a pro/anti China thread, my wrath will be swift.
...I can't believe I stayed up till 2 A.M. watching a fucking volleyball game. :P The U.S. almost blew that shit. The announcers calling it were fellating the Americans like crazy till the "inferior" Venezuelans starting kicking their ass. I tried to LOL at it, but it came out as a yawn. :P

I'm not too happy with the Canadians right now. We're sucking out at all the things we were supposed to be good at. The announcers making excuses for them is really irritating as well.

I wish there was a mute button for announcers in general. They tend to aggravate me.

You've obviously never been mobbed by kids who have been trained to beg from foreign tourists by their parents. Beijing is a shithole.

I've got a joke!
Question: How do you blindfold a Chinese man?
Answer: Wrap their eyes with dental floss.

Yes, but you've been a complete asshole douchebag to me since the day I joined, so I'm not exactly shocked.

The mod clearly states not to let this degenerate into faggotry, and what do you do?

Sporting events without the damned play by play would be the greatest thing ever.
Sports without the bullshit politics would be fantastic too, but it is what it is.
When I tune in to Olympics, swimming is the sport I tend to stick with. It's beautiful to watch and exciting.

I was surprised to see that the U.S. vs. China basketball game ended up being as big a blowout as it was. That shit was pretty close when I left it. Maybe they'll actually make up for the debacle that was the 2004 Olympics.

They're not called the "Redeem Team" for nothing. What a silly name. Considering the immense amount of talent on the US Team this year I expect US will bring the gold home this year. I was not so surprised by the blowout honestly. I know people were hyping this game up like crazy but I didn't think that China stood much chance.

My fave is usually gymnastics (they're ninjas!) but I watch a little bit of everything I can catch.
The Chinese women's gymnastics team is amazing to watch.
Also, I almost had a heartattack when US women's Nastia Liukin fell from the uneven bars. Right on the dismount too, dang.

I'd feel bad for them when it happens, but I probably wouldn't have been watching if it weren't for a chance to see people fall on their ass.
