Demo was out today, anyone try it?

I thought it was fun, but basically Psi Ops on a grander scale.

Not a completely bad thing, because Psi Ops has a craptacular ending.

Being able to
Code:
stop a Tie Fighter in mid flight and destroy it was fucking cool. As was fighting an AT-AT.

Code:
Just to clear something up, it wasn't an AT AT, but an AT ST...AT AT = big 4 legged one.

I tried this demo today and it was pretty awesome. Being a Star Wars geek kinda helps. Looking forward to Sept 16.

Oops, you're right.

I got my acronyms mixed up.

I was more impressed than I thought I would be, considering the whole team got canned right at the end of development.

Ooo, I'll try out the demon at some point. I've been keeping an eye on this, so I'm hoping it'll be good. It certainly looks pretty swish.

Yeah, I'm starting to get jazzed for this. Only thing is...I don't have a PS3 or a 360(yet). I'll be picking it up for the Wii. I'm wondering how the control scheme is going to work. I haven't seen or read much about the Wii version. Regardless, the game looks like a good time.

Apparently, the Wii version has had a lot more thought put into it than just a straight "must-shoe-horn-motion-control-scheme-in" mentality, to the point of having a virtually separate development team, or so Gamespot's coverage would have you believe. Not always the most reliable, I'll grant you, but when they post interviews claiming as much, you gotta at least take it into some kind of consideration!

Quote
...the Wii version will have some levels that aren't in the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions. In the Wii version, we saw a Jedi temple level, but more importantly, LucasArts demonstrated how the Wii Remote is used for lightsaber attacks while the Nunchuk is used for Force powers.

Good to see a developer actually using the technology's strengths for once, and using it as an excuse for lazy, half-arsed ports!

Just spare a thought for us poor PC gamers... I chucked all my money at my rig last year, so no Force Unleashed or Soul Calibur IV for me just yet... Oh, well, maybe just in time for the both of them to go budget! :D

Thought the demo was pretty enjoyable, personally not something I'd rush out and get but my brother's set on buying it so I'll just play it that way. Also all these Psi-op comparisons are making me finally play my copy.

Which is a fun game until you get to a certain, utterly ridiculous level.

I won't spoil it though. I'd rather see you rant about it.

I downloaded the demo(n) last night and gave it a go. It seemed alright, nothing too spectacular. Hopefully someone I know will buy it so I can try it properly.

It was a pretty sweet demo, but I'll count on the reviewers and thought of others before I buy it.

I also found a glitch in the demo. I don't know how I did it, but it somehow occured when I was walking through one of the doors when I used the force to open it. It made the corridor look see-through and weird. It should be fixed up by the time of release though.
