The New Forum - Development

Hi folks, welcome to your new forum.
If you're confused by why it looks a bit different from the rest of the site... Well, that's because it's a taste of things to come. I can't really say more than that, so if you really want answers, just wait and see. ^~
The forum is overall more functional and secure than our previous setup. I'm aware we have quite a few graphical bugs, which is to be expected. We hope in the week to come we'll resolve most of these, if not all, and be well on our way with the new software.
You may be seeing all your topics marked as "New". Don't worry, it's just because the new forums don't remember your session data the same way the old ones did. You can basically set everything to "Mark as Read" and that'll fix that.
Also, I'm not sure how well some avatars transferred. If you have any avatar issues, lemme know.
Additionally: I've tested the forum in Safari, Camino, and Firefox 3 for Mac OS X. If you see a major error in the browser you're using, lemme know. Do NOT report errors in the browsers ON the system I've mentioned above: I know about those errors. If you're a Windows or Linux user, then report 'em. I gots de Mac front covered. :)

I like it too, although a quickpost would have been nice.
But overall, it's good.

Ahahaha, thanks for the kind words folks. ^^; Still, lots to iron out before we're 100%.
Also, there is a karma system now. Your "repute". Basically it's a way to give forum users a way to report on bad behaviour. I'm looking at some mods that help expand it into a more useful system, so stay tuned if those work out. :)

Okaaaay... almost everything is 'done'. I still need to get one of our ads working, but otherwise the official stuff is fine. Now all that's left is buttons and perhaps a few add-on features.
For those of you wondering, there IS a quickreply feature, but users have to turn it on via their control panel. Also, if anyone would like to submit avatar sets to the forums, I think that'd be a nice little thing to have.

For some reason you weren't in the right usergroup.
Any other staffers that can't see the correct boards, let me or Mark know.

There are a few bugs, as I said. The usergroups converted over, but not with the right permissions, so I had to manually re-add people. Anyone I forgot, I sincerely apologise. Kinda juggling a few dozen things here. ^^;
At any rate, I now have 80% of all the icons finished. Mike gave me the go-ahead to make 'em, so basically I'm trying to match up the icons with his vision of the layout. If anything feels untowards or you notice it's looking funny, gimme a shout.
