What TV to get?

Aren't HDMI cables mainly for 1080p though? Is there really a huge difference between component and HDMI for 720p?

I'd just go with monoprice.com. And you'll need HDMI for upscaling DVDs (the PS3's great at it!) because the MPAA is stupid.

How do you know if you have an AACS enabled player? So if I use HDMI this isn't a problem?

When will they get it through their heads?

a) If someone is determined to steal from you, they will find a way. There is NO security system that will not be circumvented by thieves.

b) Stop harassing the general consumer with this crap. Easy is better than secure in the case of entertainment, and the less hassle something is, the more likely the consumer is to buy it, recommend it, and buy other products from you.

Alright I bought a LCD 32" Samsung for $700 bucks. It's pretty awesome, but for some reason I notice alot more jaggies than I did with a SDTV. Does that always happen? I am using component cables though because I didn't want to spend 100 bucks on HDMI, thats just too expensive for me. Does that affect anything?

Somewhat normal on old systems (PS2, GC, etc).  Shouldn't happen on current gen (PS3, X360).  Will edit with more info later if needed.

I'm not sure how exactly to tell if you have one or not, but I'm pretty sure if it has an HDMI output, and especially if it's a name brand product, it will support it. So yeah, if you use HDMI you'll be fine.

Something I should note above: HDMI's more useful quality-wise for higher resolutions as I understand it. I couldn't easily tell the difference between component and HDMI for the PS3.

Double Post! Alright I read some customer reviews and ended up buying this cable over at Amazon for a great price. Everyone seems to really like the cable so I'm confident it will be decent at least.

HDMI cords are pretty much like USB cords. While there CAN be a difference in performance it needs very, very extreme circumstances, 1440p over a longass stretch or something like that. I'll note Monoprice's are well constructed you're probably fine either way and weren't ripped off.
