that's really looking pretty
it actually feels like we are finally getting next gen visuals in JRPGs... hopefully the characters animation aren't as stilted and last gen as Lost Odyssey...

You could have used a better example: Tales of Vesperia.

My god, the characters look even
more
doll-like than Infinite Undiscovery’s. It's so fucking eerie.
Hopefully it will be a fun game though.

Whoa, I just bought this issue a half hour ago.
From what the article says, it sounds like the game plays a lot like SO3 but with four characters and jumping. You can do combos with regular attacks and seamlessly connect them to special attacks or magic, though it's not clear if it is similar to the cancel bonus system.
Guess I'll find out next week when I play it along with Last Remnant at the Tokyo Game Show. :)

I'm looking forward to it with cautious optimism. After Infinite Undiscovery (which may or may not have been made by the same group within Tri-Ace. I just know they're both Tri-ace), I'm going to play the wait-and-see approach with this game before I get any hopes up.
That being said, it does look really good visually at least. The little tidbits of gameplay videos I saw, showed fast battles and no lag of any kind. Might be interesting.

There is another thing to add to the IU story. When people say it's a Microsoft game it really is a Microsoft game...I'll just leave it at that. This series and VP are Tri-Ace's bread and butter, so I expect great things from them on this game...as long as S-E keeps in mind that LO/TOV quaility localization is the lowest acceptible quality on next gen consoles, everything should be fine.

It means Microsoft was originally the publisher and is still in the copyright because they have ownership of the IP.

I wouldn't be too worried about SO4. If you didn't like IU (I did , but not for its amazing story, :P) then you'll be glad to hear that while IU and SO4 share the same development studio, they were/are being made by separate teams. IU = Radiata Stories team, SO4=VP2, SO3 team.
