Speaking of patches, there is now (apparently) a patch for Persona II Innocent Sin.

I assume you played Ys VI on PSP, 'cause the other versions are pretty darned good.

PS2. A few things I remember:

* Soundtrack had this 80's Muzak vibe to it.
* Really boring dungeon designs.
* Grindfest.
* Nothing resembling depth or variety.
* Adol felt incredibly weightless, and I thought the controls were really floaty.
* Basically, it's Q3 to Terranigma's UT.

This is actually a pretty good analogy now that I think about it, so long as you ignore the vast difference in release dates. I like Ys VI basically because it's the equivalent of a sugar rush, lots of fun and fast as hell. If you want something more interestingly designed (and though I'm reluctant to say this anymore a better story) Terranigma's superior.

The DS is turning into one of my favorite consoles ever. Even if a lot of the library is remakes, it stands up very well to any other console's.
I, for one, have never played a Ys game and am looking forward to playing these games.

I've never played an Ys game before, so I'll probably check the DS version out once it is released. Out of curiosity, though, the TurboGrafx 16 version of this game is on the VC. Is that something worth checking out?

I'd say yes, but really the three primary reasons are probably going to be 1. hear the music, 2. the historical value, and 3. it's cheap.

Napishtim is really the only exposure I've had to the series, and if these are anything like Napishtim, I'm definitely stoked about this! Hah, my roommates actually watched me go through this game. Fond college memories, though I don't know how anyone can watch someone play an RPG.
