NTSC/ PAL Conversion Question

A friend of mine went to England and brought back Maken Shao as a present for me. I have a swap magic disc, so my PS2 will run the game, but because my TV is NTSC, it won't correctly display the picture. I know there are converters available, but I'm not sure which one I should buy. I would have assumed that if I had a UK PS2 then I would buy the PAL to NTSC converter, but because the PS2 itself normally works with NTSC, I have no idea which one I should be purchasing.
