My friend Ray always does a "Punk rock Xmas" compilation with all kinds of punk, alternative, and/or otherwise bizarre holiday music.  The compilation he makes is immense, but here are 12 from it that I particularly like:

(The first 4 aren't punk, but the rest are)

"Christmas in Las Vegas" by Richard Cheese https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0nZ1igeAsE

"Happy New Year" by Spike Jones and the City Slickers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_4BrQeTFKo

"Winter Wonderland" by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FJU4GrXztE

"The Night Santa Went Crazy" by Weird Al https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FJU4GrXztE

--------------

"Oi to the World" by The Vandals https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKk-2Pu2N8g

"My Mother Gave Me a Gun for Christmas" by The Pork Dukes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE4mg88GhHc (That song amuses me, because the bridge where he sings about a Coca Cola ICBM reminds me of the Pepsi missiles in Project A-Ko)

"Xmas has been X'd" by NOFX https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWSYbVqmDGU

"Credit Crunch Christmas" by Toy Dolls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhRfaSebKsI

"Homo Christmas" by Pansy Division (This one is a VERY NSFW song, but hilarious): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoJS_95HWGI

"O Come, O Come Emmanuel" by Bad Religion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLCxbXfyXCo

"The Season's Upon Us" by Dropkick Murphys (lyrics kinda NSFW) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gxYZRAowdzc

"Christmas Party" by Dead Milkmen https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4dROKw4maA8 (This one's acoustic punk)

Good video. Although, the bassist and drummer are missing in this one, lol. Favorite parts are the synth breakouts at 0:48.

Not so much song of the moment, but band of the moment: Helion Prime.  They are a kickass sci-fi/space exploration power metal band.  I first got wind of them this past weekend when I was looking for a rocking tune to listen to for 2:15 while I did my nightly plank, and this one came up- "Life Finds a Way."

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=F0VfnqLUs8M

I couldn't stop listening to the album on Bandcamp, so I eventually splurged on it.  This is now up there with my favorite albums of 2016.  The music and lyrics are catchy yet still complex and intelligent.  No matter how exhausted I am at the end of the day, this makes me want to headbang and shout-along at every stoplight when I'm driving home.

However, I just learned that their singer, Heather, left the band.  Just when I discovered them, this... until I heard their new vocalist Kayla sing.  I LOVE Kayla's voice.  That's the kind of resonant voice I favor in a siren, and I look forward to their new album.

I listened to Ayumi Hamasaki's Crossroads CD

1. Track 1 - Main Title track, pretty nice, I think this is one of the Ayumi songs I kind of like better than the others.
2. Track 2 - Kind of a more ballad track.
3. Track 3 - Rock track, this one was pretty interesting kind of had a weird echo-y sound to Ayumi's voice.
4. Track 4 - Super ballad track! Very lush, maybe one of my favorites.
5. Track 5 - Instrumental of the Main Title with some kind of vocal change as well later in the song, pretty nice addition.
6. Track 6 - Maybe the most sentimental/ballad ish... even more than 4, sounds dreamy and distant.

Overall 8.5/10. I kind of wish there were more singing tracks but the instrumental heavy ones were nice so I don't knock it down too much.

Keri Hilson In a Perfect World CD

Track 1 - Slow ballad/rap, not a big fan
Track 2 - More rappish, like it better than the first.
Track 3 - More rappish,  but also more Keri instead of guests, which is nice
Track 4 - Ah the title track, and it doesn't disappoint, Timbaland and Keri create a pretty neat song.
Track 5 - Mid tempo ish song, guest singer but it's pretty neat sounding.
Track 6 - Pure ballad, pretty big change of pace.
Track 7 - Mega ballad... total tone change, sort of different sounding singing, kind of interesting.
Track 8 - Different instruments different sounds, sounds kinda nice though.
Track 9 - Very weird one.
Track 10 - Kinda of a spacey techno vibe to this one.
Track 11 - More experimental-ish as well, with a kind of serious sad tinge to it.
Track 12 - Whoa! Completely different than the others.
Track 13 - And we're right back to normal.. pretty much a straight ballad, but another single/title track, solid all around.
Track 14 - Another change of pace here.
Track 15 - Well this one is from an older album and is a single, enjoyable.
Track 16 - Ok, so changing is a theme,  because this one is sort of light rock-ish I think.
Track 17 -  Guest singers etc.
Track 18 - One of the singles, pretty great.

Overall... phew... hard to summarize, but I'd have to say like 6/10 because a lot of the non-single tracks I didn't like.

FictionJunction Compilation CD1

Track 1 - Actually not really my favorite Yuki song per se, but nice
Track 2 - Eng version of a famous Yuki song, sparky and fun.
Track 3 - Not sure I've heard this one but it's super cool
Track 4 - Kajiura classic
Track 5 - A light and airy song
Track 6 - A super sensual ballad
Track 7 - A nice kind of up-tempo rock song
Track 8 - A kind of mid-tempo sort of jovial song.
Track 9 - A somber sad, and interesting piece.
Track 10 - A kind of chanting sort of song.
Track 11 - A mega Kajiura song, possibly my favorite.
Track 12 - A really slow song.
Track 13 - A more up-tempo exciting Yuki song.
Track 14 - Brooding and epic

Overall 8.4/10, an excellent compilatino of FictionJunction's music in the first CD.

CD2

Track 1 - A kind of ethereal piece.
Track 2 - One of my fave Kajiura songs, a pretty solid joy.
Track 3 - Change in tone, pretty cool!
Track 4 - Sounds like a remix.
Track 5 - Hm, a kind of creepy change in tone
Track 6 - Colorful and fun!
Track 7 - Boisterous
Track 8 - Wild

Track 10 - Soft and quick!
Track 11 - Intense and energy
Track 12 -Whoa!
Track 13 - Kind of unique

Disillusioned as all get out with the state of the world and all the useful idiots populating it right now.  Therefore, my song of the moment is "Surprise, Surprise" by Cop Shoot Cop.  What a criminally overlooked band.  This song, heck that whole album is filled with amazing music and brilliant lyrics that are still relevant 23-24 years later.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-nxQFblRHU

the lyrics:
The lower they go, the higher they fly
There's more than one way to play and I say an eye for an eye
It's been going too far, been going too far for far too long
I want to sent it on fire, I want to set it on fire, drop the bomb

Surprise, surprise. The government lies.

It's okay to kill in the name of democracy
And dictators are swell if they like the smell of American money
It's making me sick, I want no part of it
Stop waving that flag
All you idiots bought right into it
And who's left holding the bag?

Surprise, surprise. Surprise, surprise.
The government lies.

This capsized country's sinking fast
I've got leeches and landlords and lawyers
Crawling all over my ass
We've been playing along and they've
Been playing the song we wanted to hear
But the melody's meaningless
Wasted on my ears

Surprise, surprise. Surprise, surprise.
The government lies.

Turn it off, turn it off, turn it off

"Golly, why can't I act right outside of a baseball game?"

Namie Amuro Mint, DVD

Wow! Dang the costumes, choreography, and everything was pretty crazy, it had this kind of slick sort of crazy sheen where they're all in some sort of monotone room and basically they have a bunch of yeah crazy moves and stuff like that. Overall pretty exciting and interesting stuff.

9/10

Rest of CD: Play

Track 1 - Hide and Seek, pretty famous song, very neat and fun.
Track 2 - Mega suave! Wow!
Track 3 - hm kinda R&Bish not my fave
Track 4 - Fast paced, different
Track 5 - Very sow, not my fave
Track 6 - Mellow slow jam
Track 7 - Nice sounding ballad
Track 8 - Slow ballad
Track 9 - Energetic
Track 10 - Quite a rompy romp.
Track 11 - Sleepy but fun!
Track 12 - Cool and calm

Namie Amuro Yeah-Oh

Track 1 - Calm, reflective, and interesting
Track 2 - Holy smokes! Maybe the best Namie title song IMO
Track 3 - Kind of disappointing instrumental version, but still nice.
Track 4 - Instrumental of the title track, neat.

Overall yeah great 9.6/10

CD2 Go Round video

You know not my favorite per se, the styles and costumes are cool but the aesthetic also seemed sorta weird to me. It doesn't help that it's not my favorite song, but overall still kinda nice and cool.

Yeah-Oh

YEAH! OH! Puns aside, this was awesome, a mix of one of my favorite songs with a video I had only seen a small gimpse of, pretty great.

FUCK THAT WAS COOL.

Overall 9.8/10
