Iron Maiden - 7th Son - Can I Play with Madness?

Jeeze... I can't believe I didn't get this album YEARS ago! All I've owned from them till now was Brave New World. My drummer urged me to get 7th Son of a 7th Son because he'd like to cover Moonchild. I'd heard this album was great, but I'd never gotten around to picking it up. Sheer genious! I'm going to collect me some more Maiden.

Also, one thing I'm surprised at is how upbeat and overall chearfull Maiden really is. They don't sound angsty and agressive the way Metallica does, they feel sorta like slightly heavier Rush. I know Metallica is thrash and Maiden is power metal, but I always lumped them together a bit since they were from the same time period, but they're TOTALLY different. I guess growing up with Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Rush, and more melodic stuff, I'm much more drawn to the power end of the spectrum.

"Reach out to the Truth" from Persona 4.  It's crazy how much I love that battle theme.  It's fresh, sexy, and exciting.  I never get tired of it, and I'm 30-something hours into the gam.  If I had a band, I'd want to cover it; I know it'd go over awesome at a basement show.  Amazing how such a fantastic song is in such a blah soundtrack.  I never thought I'd describe a Persona soundtrack as blah, since I loved the music in all the prior Persona games (esp. Innocent Sin.)

So for not only being one of the best battle themes I've heard in a long time and the best song on an otherwise meh soundtrack, "Reach out to the Truth" is my song of the moment.
Games I've given Editor's Choice to:
Ever 17, Hourglass of Summer, Anachronox, Persona PSP, Radiant Historia, To The Moon, Revolution 60

Haha, exactly what I thought!

But it's really great that you're discovering some more Maiden. You've got their best album (Brave New World), and 7th Son is friggin' amazing too. If you're looking to go further, I'd get Powerslave and A Matter of Life and Death next. Both are ridiculously good albums, and they also represent two distinctly different eras of the band.
I had a stupid dream
that I could change things.
