Number Two's eyes narrowed and became what are known in the Shouting and Killing People trade as cold slits, the idea presumable being to give your opponent the impression that you have lost your glasses or are having difficulty keeping awake. Why this is frightening is an, as yet, unresolved problem.

The press release I got said "Available Now", but I'm thinking it's part of tomorrow's update.  Spiffy, still.

I am in shock, but terribly excited.  I've got a physical copy, but I am so glad that such a great title is now available...

SEE SONY, NOW YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT.

They should have released the UMD of Suikoden I&II that Japan got.

This news, it's actually really great news. Always wanted to play the game. The third one had great music and I was actually interested in the whole war battling. I wasn't a fan when the actual confrontation came, because my guys were being ambushed by weaker enemies and losing. I guess being strong characters doesn't mean anything if you can't tell your head from your butt.

I hope it comes to the PAL PS Store. We still don't have SotN yet!

Why?  The PSP Suik I&II sold in the thousands in Japan.  Not the tens of thousands - the thousands.

Cool. I never played Suikoden, and since it's $5.99, all the more attractive to me.

But it probably would have sold more here.

Suikoden I and II on PS1 are outrageously rare, and people sell such gems for sometimes double the original retail. If it were to be released on the PSP for a budget price, people would rather pay the budget price than $150+ for the originals.

I really don't understand this. You're getting the PSN version which you can play on your PS3 upscaled and on your PSP, and chances are that you'll get Suikoden II for the same price or around it. That's going to be 10-15 dollars toal and you would rather have the UMD version which would probably cost around 30-40 dollars? Am I missing something or is that about right?

The UMD sold like crap in Japan, because Suikoden isn't rare at all there. They got some really cheap budget releases there, so people might as well buy the original PSone version. Europe and America: completely different story.

As to why some people would prefer a UMD over a download? Collectors like to own actual copies, even when it's just a port of a PSone game.

I wonder how the PSN releases will affect the Ebay prices. Valkyrie Profile and Final Fantasy Tactics went down after the PSone ports were released, but will a downloadable game have the same effect?

Yeah, UMDs suck.

I wish my PSP was strictly a DL machine.  Every game saved directly to a memory stick.  This'd be pretty cool and somewhat cheaper than buying physical media.
