It's good. It's better than Alex Lifeson's solo album, cause this one sounds a bit like someone from Rush. :P
It sounds like modern day Rush, which is okay. Something between Test for Echo and Snakes and Arrows.
Agreed, I LOVE "My Favorite Headache". Actually, it's probably one of my top 5 favorite Rush ablums. Sure, the lyrics aren't nearly as good because Neal isn't there, but the songwriting is solid. "Still' has gotta be one of the most beautiful tunes ever written. I remember getting that back when it first came out, and I picked up Perminant Waves at the same time, what a thrill!
Alex Lifeson's solo album (Victor) is shit. It's not that it doesn't sound like Rush (that's totally okay, I mean, that's WHY you do a solo album anyway), but every song was just so damn CREEPY! There was something incredibly pedaphyilic about that album. And "Shut Up Shutting Up" has to be one of the most sexist songs ever written. The title track was just fucked up, and the starter song was... again... creepy. I don't want to hear about Alex Lifeson's hidden sexual frustrations. It left a bad taste in my mouth, and I've never been able to appreciate Alex Lifeson in the same way since. I got it as a gift, and I just had to end up selling it somewhere, because it just disturbed me being in my collection.
