Anyone played the DS version yet? Whats it like? I am thinking of importing it as we don't get it here until March / April 2009.

You've played CT already, I'm sure.

Well, it's like that, 'cept you can play it on the turlet. Just don't forget to wash yer hands.

It's pretty much the best thing ever.

^This.

I've played this countless times on the SNES already, but having it portable is freakin' awesome!! I don't like the character menu is much, though. It looked better on the SNES.

I love this game. I'm playing it in classic mode though because it just felt different when I was playing in DS mode.

It fell behind Persona 4 as game of the year for me.

That's saying something.

Man, that's the point of playing it that way! No wait, I'm mostly playing it that way because it remedies the only near-significant issue I had with CT: the battle menu hogging up space I want freed up.

Is it me, or does the game seem a lot easier?

It's already easy! =/ I wish it was harder. I guess I could make it harder by equipping people with crappier equipment later on in the game.

I guess that's what happens when you don't play a game for 13 years.

Yeah, JP, that does happen. I remember really sucking at Xenogears the first time I played it, but then when I went back to play it again, I didn't have any trouble at all. You're just better now. :)

Let's not forget also, JP, that Chrono Trigger is something we've probably all played multiple times so we already pretty much know what to expect.

If I recall correctly, the original poster hasn't played too many JRPGs so I'm unsure if he ever played Chrono Trigger in the first place.  If not, CT DS is definitely a must-try.  The game is a classic and the gameplay is smooth.  No random encounters, not overly long, loads of replay value, fantastic music...

That reminds me, I want to go back and play Xenogears again. I played it when I was a lot younger, so I wasn't exactly picking up what they were putting down story wise. I'd understand it a lot better now on a second play through.
