Giving up on Phantasy Star and moving on to PS2.
I figured I'm not really enjoying PS right now. Lack of an automap is frustrating, and I have no desire to print out some graph paper :p

I've been giving RPGs a rest for a bit and working on some horror games. Most notably Fear 2: Project Origin. In fact, I finished that game like an hour ago and I have to say: It was f#$&ing awesome, especially the ending. Alma is such an awesome character.
I've also been checking out a game called Obscure (Ps2) and while it doesn't revolutionize the survival-horror genre nor is as scary as Silent Hill for example it's still surprisingly good. Other then that I haven't really been playing anything, don't really know why.

O rly? Good luck with that! :}
Anyways, after some hassle I managed to land DQ V (sold out in most places), FE I (nice display), and Mario Kart: Super Circuit (for some really strange and possibly stupid reason too). So far in DQ V I'm abusing the casino for a Gringham Whip and a Metal King Sword (and quite possibly some Falcon Earrings too if they work the way I think they work), though I haven't had a chance to play the other two games yet.
As for Xenosaga I ironically just finished abusing the everloving crap out of that game's casino too. Now own this game's version of the Power Crisis (which is hopefully just as broken as it was in Xenogears) and all the miscellaneous bonus art along with at least one copy of every other prize as well. Strangely enough the casino was far easier to abuse in XS than in DQ V (thanks to better games with higher paying winnings).
Nothing new on the MGS GB or Riveria fronts unfortunately. :/

I'm to chapter 3 of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. Talk about overloading you with worthless characters! At first I was mad when I found out about not being able to access the side-chapters unless I let characters die, but now I don't really care. It looks like I currently have two useless fighters, one useless archer, and one useless curate. Not only that, but they don't have personalities either. They don't talk, and they probably never will...
I am pleased with the game, but I think Intelligent Systems needs a swift kick in the ass.

I Fucking Hate Casinos...
HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're such a rediculous and unrelated gimmick thrown into the game. I bet they're their to sick new developers on, so they can get their side-developed minigames out the door so they'll quit bitching. I have no problem with single side-games like Tripple Triad and Tetra Master, but casinos are just a big stupid dick in the ass.
Two words: "Golden Saucer"... I rest my case.

I spent time in the DQ7 and 8 casino, but they're the only ones I've ever bothered with.

Because PSII is leagues more difficult than PSI.

Tales of the Abyss casino rocked. I loved playing poker, and then trying to double up, 4up, 8up. That was addictive. I think I spent 2 hours on that alone.

I bought and played
Noby Noby Boy.
It's a fun little physics-based game; worth the $5, I think. The controls were difficult to lock-down in your mind, at first, but you get used to them. There are other maps you can travel to, and there are a variety of objects that you can interact with. I also played some more single-player of
Battlefield: Bad Company.

No first person dungeons however...I think it balances out nicely.

No, actually, it doesn't. I recall playing PS2 when it first came out. The game came with a full strategy guide and was STILL a total bitch and a half. Tough game that I have fond memories of. Amazing how nostalgia makes everything better.
Your best bet is just to skip all the way ahead to PS4. It's all the best of Phantasy star rolled into one(Minus the godawful last dungeon. but that's just my opinion(fact).
Still side-questing in Mass Effect. I really should go back to the main quest, but I am addicted to exploring random planets for long lost minerals. I really don't know why.
