So what was everyone's favorite movie of 2008? Any disappointments?

Mine was The Dark Knight, but I'm sure most already knew that.

As for disappointments, The Spirit comes to mind because I loved Sin City and it looked vaguely similar AND Frank Miller was directing, but we all know how that turned out...

The Dark Knight was far and away my favorite. Second was probably Pineapple Express, but maybe Benjamin Button (though I didn't see it till 2009).

Best Film: Frost/Nixon, if you think it counts. If not...I guess TDK (Pretty close race with Iron Man though).

Biggest disappointments: IJ4, Quantum of Solace

Worst movie: Anything made by Freidberg and Seltzer. But since a dog turd would be a better movie than any of those, I suppose I'll put Over Her Dead Body.

I actually really liked Doomsday as well. I thought critics were pretty harsh on it.

#1- Slumdog Millionaire.  This was a hard choice.  It came down to The Dark Knight and Slumdog Millionaire.  But I gotta give the nod to Slumdog Millionaire.  I saw it twice.

#2- The Dark Knight.  'nuff said.

#3- Iron Man.  'nuff said.

Even though I liked Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, some aspects were a bit far fetched, even for an Indy film.
Code:
The alien stuff really wasn't, especially given the stuff I've watched on History Channel, but the scenes with the monkeys and the ants were kinda out there.

Iron Man.  It's the only one I saw, but I think it probably would have been my favorite anyway. :P

Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay. You Don't Mess With The Zohan is number two for me.

Wall-E is favorite.

TCCOBB is most disappointing.

Probably Wall-E or The Dark Knight. There were a whole bunch of movies I didn't get around to seeing that could have dethroned those two.

The Dark Knight. I thought Iron Man was one of the worst movies I saw this year.
